I went to a Northeast Texas Walmart on Sunday around 5:00 p.m. and only two checkout clerks there and shelves unstocked; one on the express and one on a regular checkout. Very few people in the store. I knew the lady that was ringing mine up and she said seven people called in. Then I ran across this article and the employees are saying: "it’s piling up in aisles and in the back of stores because Wal-Mart doesn’t have enough bodies to restock the shelves" I don't believe it's just a staffing problem. Maybe other countries aren't shipping their crappy products anymore. Something is going on. [ link to www.bloomberg.com] Quoting: Anonymous Coward 31315433 I live in Northeast Texas and I was at my local Walmart Sunday also. Found the same thing. Really strange! I was there late too. Normally they have the freight out and are restocking, but not that night. Quoting: Vixi I think they are always understaffed on Sunday. Was there last year when there were only a few checkout lanes open -- the lines long. Went to the customer service counter to find out what was going on... they all deffered me to the 'Asst Manager' who was on duty that day -- said they would send him over to where I was waiting in line. I went back over to where my wife was in line -- thinking he would never have the balls to show-up... but sure enough, this little fat guy walks up to me so I could ream his ass in front of 50 people. His response was... he was sorry, they had underestimated the number of customers for the time of day -- and he had no one else available to put on the counters. He waddled off, and we waited in like everyone else did. Not much of a choice.
