Re: The Language of the Birds
William Henry wrote an interesting book of the same title of this thread. His work has an esoteric bent and a focus on symbolism.

He may or may not agree, but the language can be spoken aloud and it doesn't sound anything like "speaking in tongues". Sounds a bit like Sumerian but I do not know how to write it down; it's more of Iike speaking from the heart rather than the mind. I suppose it can be written with geometry. The thing is, writing is connected with the mental faculty and in speaking it, it flows with such beauty I could not describe to you in the written word.

Thanks for posting this. When I realized the mystery language I can speak is connected to this, I've been trying to learn more. I think it's the language we used to communicate before all other root languages and their dialects.

You do realize that different types of birds have entirely different languages right? A house finch does not speak great horned owl does not speak eagle does not speak pelican.

The bird in this context is symbolic. Although in the literal sense they tend to speak to us today by the presence, timing, and actions.

Re: The Language of the Birds
This is going to sound nuts but a few years ago, around the time of the 2008 elections in the US I was sleeping on the couch near the window.

There was a bird outside chirping. A kind of metallic buzz... I was half asleep and on the verge of waking up.. And I heard a distinct phrase within the bird chirps. It was very 'robotic' sounding....

It was saying "Negro Demon".

No word of a lie. That's exactly what it sounded like. There more 'awake' I became the more it just sounded like a bird chirping about "nothing" --- I was drifting in and out of sleep, so when my mind was at the in between stage between being awake and being asleep, so as I fell towards sleep again, again the words "Negro Demon" seemed to emanate from the bird.

Really weird. That's the only time something like that has ever happened.

I should say that at that point I was undecided about Obama. I certainly did not think ( and still do not think either way ) for sure about 'antichrist' type potentialities. Though its a very strange occurance. Just wanted to point out that at that time I didn't care much either way about Obama. Now, with some of the stuff he's done..... almost like it was a prediction.

Very true, with thought projection, birds can understand when we speak human languages.

I was weeding under some coffee bushes one day and a little shama thrush was following me and eating all the juicy bugs I'd unearthed. I sat very still on my weeding stool and told him out loud how beatufil he was and how I wished I could touch him and feel how soft his feathers were. Instantly, he hopped over, physically rubbed against my ankle and then looked straight up at me - so cool!

Maybe it's more about the language/music of the soul, but in the materialistic modern times it seems to be more about the brain, forgetting that souls surpass languages, even to the extent of saying that animals don't have a soul at all.

Re: The Language of the Birds
This is fascinating. The birds on my land seem to talk to me all the time, if only to say "where's my breakfast?" But I watch their different communications with each other, and I am getting to recognise what they are relaying to one another.
Much to be learned and understood here.
Thanks Sep.

Yes, I've noticed in my yard that when mommy birds (or are they daddies?) scold their baby babies, they immediately
do what they are told. It's amazing...they do have a language that the newborn babies understand.

Re: The Language of the Birds
In Sufism, the language of birds is a mystical language of angels. The Conference of the Birds (mantiq at-tair) is a mystical poem of 4647 verses by the 12th century Persian poet Farid al-Din Attar[4]

In the Jerusalem Talmud (Louis Ginzberg, Legends of the Jews, 1909), Solomon's proverbial wisdom was due to his being granted understanding of the language of birds by God.

In Egyptian Arabic, hieroglyphic writing is called "the alphabet of the birds". In Ancient Egyptian itself, the hieroglyphic form of writing was given the name medu-netjer ("words of the gods" or "divine language").

In Kabbalah, Renaissance magic, and alchemy, the language of the birds was considered a secret and perfect language and the key to perfect knowledge, sometimes also called the langue verte, or green language.

Thanks! I was looking for a PDF to post but couldn't find one.

This subject reminds me of a Hopi story much like the story of the Tower of Babel. To paraphrase: Like usual, after given instructions to live in harmony with the Earth from the creator Tiaowa, the people eventually became corrupt and petty again and along came the bird Mochni, who was "like a mockingbird", to confuse the languages.

I believe it was in the World (epoch) before that incident that we were able to communicate directly with other animals, before we lost that ability by becoming corrupted.

Re: The Language of the Birds
Green language is a way of communicating that allows people across different cultures and centuries to discuss and share ideas about the universe and each person's place in it. Transcendent experiences, cosmic ideas, and the "extra" in extraordinary reality are communicated through the use of a "divine language of the birds" that reveals itself as person's understanding grows.

To communicate a wealth of ideas, the green language employs***** a lot of wordplay -- puns, alternative spellings, interesting punctuation, deconstruction into letters and connections with other words, ideas, symbols, writings, meta4s, myths, and wisdom. These associations are evoked as you read "green language texts", often seen either as cleverly written papers or meaningless documents created by the ignorant or foolish witch are easily dis.miss.ed.

Each of these associations brings up additional ideas and soon you have a chain of intuitive associations (a.rising*** from the subconscious) that can lead your thoughts to very interesting**** questions, ideas and experiences.

In any case, don't worry if it doesn't make sense to you right away. You can safely ignore them if you wish, or give them time to sink in2 your subconscious and see what floats up en time. When you are ready, they will start to make sense. And as your understanding grows, so will the depth and breath of the cents you purr.c.eve them with.

As ancient wisdom says ... reveal only what the seeker can knot find on his own ... once the clue has been provided, the rest of the work is up to those who truly wish to k/now.

The truth is, books and like material are nice for inspiration, but you have everything you need to achieve your goal already within you. There is no try, only do.
