Re: UPDATED: Holy Shit, Big Explosion in Arctic!
ya... the maps in these pictures, [link to arctic-news.blogspot.be]

explain how it is possible for a huge explosion to happen, when tons of methane are released - and someone has their pilot lit

the first thread talks about huge sheets of ice breaking up, as well, which could account for big noise ... it also said that there wouldn't be any ice left by summer.

if OP's friend has been up there long enough to notice a difference ... he could tell us if the ice sheet is really "on the move" - I would imagine that the sheet of ice that he is on, might be moving too ??

Any chance the MSM knows that something is happening and is organizing some sort of coverup?

Interesting quote from the above article:

More commerce, new conflicts?
Less ice in the Arctic and the potential for ice-free summers is ratcheting up commercial interest in the region for oil and mineral extraction as well as use as a shipping route, developments that have the U.S. Navy studying how to establish an increased presence there.

"We see the potential for direct armed conflict in the Arctic to be very, very low," Titley said, but the military nevertheless is preparing its ships to be Arctic worthy, to establish infrastructure such as ports, and to strengthen communications and weather forecasting.

The Earth cannot be hollow. All of these hollow Earth myths originate from the hallucinations of a single man experiencing hypothermia. None of the others on his expedition recall any similar incident. Having experienced it myself, I can tell you the dreams and hallucinations are so incredibly realistic and detailed, they cannot be separated from fact in your mind positively and you will have a tendency to swear they are real, defending their genuine nature to the end..

Thanks very much for taking time to respond, my interest is such that this might all possibly be a digital simulation (see digital physics)hologram that we may soon be able to write own code. I always thought, if you can think it, it can happen.

he sounded more concerned when he was explaining the ice.

Satellite phone, yes.
 Quoting: Switchblade

Looks like a nuke test from Russia, in their remote northern regions near the sea.

That explains both the sound and EM disruption of radio waves, and yes it's believable that it could be felt in that base, because the radio waves are traveling better on sea than land.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1392733

radio waves travel at 186000 miles per second regardless of sea or land

....and a satellite phone is still a vhf radio transciever
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1691552

I was not referring to the speed of waves, but their propagation, which is higher on sea than land.

Satellite phones are on microwave frequencies, in direct connection with satellites (vertically triangulated signals).

VHF is much lower frequencies, and are horizontally propagated signals to and fro GROUND antennas.

Hence why it's possible that horizontal wave EMPs will not disrupt satellite phones.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1392733

Better tell that to the guys and gals up on ISS.. some of the transceivers are in th VHF range..

VHF can be polarized either horizonal, verticle or even with left or right circular polarization..

Ask a HAM operator about this stuff.. listen to his five hour long speil .. about VHF... UHF and Microwaves.. antennas and wave propagation at various Radio frequencies.. like even ULF or ELF..

Yeah I spoke to him again last night around Midnight my time, things seem to have calmed down but they are removing all non-essential staff from Borneo. (it's important to note that this isn't uncommon, they end up back at Svalbard or Moscow whenever the ice shifts too much.) he did however tell me that according to his GPS borneo had shifted 5 or so nautical miles north by north west, in only a few hours that is a big shift.

but thats all the info as of late.
Unity is the great goal toward which humanity moves irresistibly. But it becomes fatal, destructive of the intelligence, the dignity, the well-being of individuals and peoples whenever it is formed without regard to liberty, either by violent means or under the authority of any theological, metaphysical, political, or even economic idea. That patriotism which tends toward unity without regard to liberty is an evil patriotism, always disastrous to the popular and real interests of the country it claims to exalt and serve. Often, without wishing to be so, it is a friend of reaction – an enemy of the revolution, i.e., the emancipation of nations and men.

Thanks OP so it sounds like some type of geologic event, ice is on the move. I knew about that last week when my friend told me it looks like 99% of the ice is in the move according to NOAA's last video a few days ago. So the explosion part is what I'm wondering about - did he say anything more about that, what it sounded like? What are other people saying?

Thanks OP so it sounds like some type of geologic event, ice is on the move. I knew about that last week when my friend told me it looks like 99% of the ice is in the move according to NOAA's last video a few days ago. So the explosion part is what I'm wondering about - did he say anything more about that, what it sounded like? What are other people saying?

Thanks OP for posting this btw.

Methane gas is the biggest thing we have to worry about, IMHO.

He never said anything about hearing the explosion, Just a Bright flash in the immediate direction of Russia, I asked "Like Moscow?" He said yes, so from his position it would place his line-of-sight to more-or-less Russia's Arctic Proving Grounds.
What he did say was that "Like Ten Minutes Later" the ice started a Deep Growling sound from beneath him.

and then now, a 5 NM shift in only a few hours.

All of that said, My Mother is at Thule and claimed that the base was chaotic but not really out of the ordinary.

According to the latest news reports Russian military are coming into Barneo to set up like they usually do for the season. So I would say that it sounds like the ice is moving quite a bit. Don't know what that flash was though. That would be interesting to find out.

That's what I am curious about too, and I imagine he is too. though admittedly the activity at Thule has me even more curious at this point.
