Mike Edmonson.
42-year-old Ronald O. Thomas is accused of public payroll fraud, conspiracy to distribute cocaine, distribution of cocaine, malfeasance in office and obstruction of justice. Before his arrest, Thomas had been assigned as the evidence custodian for northern Louisiana investigative operations.
Col. Edmonson disclosed the details of the arrest after flying to Monroe Tuesday afternoon to personally take possession of the sergeant's badge, credentials and state-issued weapon. At the time of his arrest, Thomas was immediately suspended from duty pending the outcome of an administrative investigation.
According to the LSP, a criminal investigation had been underway since last year, after information was developed during the course of another investigation suggesting Thomas' possible involvement in illegal activity. On Monday, Troopers executed a search warrant on Thomas' property and seized nearly $50,000 in cash and a stolen weapon. Other items have also been seized and State Police say they are currently being processed [ link to www.ksla.com] Just another example. What the article doesn't say is that he successfully sued the state to be hired. He claimed that he was “discriminated” against during the hiring process. Three years after applying, he was hired and given the full three years back pay. I hope he does very hard time. saltyone USMC 0341/0331 |
