I read on Reuters that people leaving we're being searched and officers had orders to confiscate anything over 1000€. Seemed like and ideal excuse to rob people to me. Hold your Euro up to the light, you should see a strip in it... Nestle GPS'd a chocolate bar wrapper to supposedly track down winners I expect that's the next step they'll take with currency. Older USD do not have magnetic strips. Some people actually ask for "no new twenties" when making withdrawals.
