How do you tell the difference between a drone and an amateur toy plane?
I am hoping someone could tell me the difference as I recently saw what I had assumed to be someone's amateur plane flying over the skies of Charlotte, NC. Now that I see pics of drones.....I'm not so sure anymore that it was just a toy plane. Any info would be useful. scratching

According to the MSN everything is a drone now, now matter if its even a model airplane :)

There are Hobby RC planes that are modeled after drones.

Legally a hobby craft can not exceed 400 ft above ground, so if you see one flying high, its probably a drone.

Also to stay legal, an RC plane must stay within line of sight of the pilot.

if you shoot it sown and some one complains of the cost to replace, it's an RC.

if you shoot it and get arrested for destruction of government property, it a drone.

You can turn a rc airplane into a drone in a matter of minutes and a couple hundred bucks.

this is somewhat true.

My rc planes (I have 4) last from 15 minutes to 35 minutes.

But it would be very easy to triple that 35 minutes with a larger fuel tank.
