god cannot do anything, he set the rules and said play the game i will not interfere, although many have been breaking the rules, i wonder when he will punish them and take away their unfair advantage

Dear sir, poor sir, brave sir: You are an experiment by the Creator of the Universe. You are the only creature in the entire Universe who has free will. You are the only one who has to figure out what to do next--and why. Everybody else is a robot, a machine.

'Cause prophecy is self-fulfilling.
 Quoting: Dr. Greenthumb

What is interesting is that I got a little caught up in the St. Malachy prophecy, so I watched this a little more intently - - only to be rewarded then by hearing some Nostradomus predictions about a papacy "unfinished" or some sort, undermined by competing sects and that REALLY got my eye brows raised. Then, Francis the I, gets elected as the first Jesuit (often tied to the illuminati) and does so on 3-13-13 - - all big time illuminati numbers.

I had never put much stock in this stuff before, but - wow, if it wasn't prophecy, then it sure seems like they wanted to fool people into thinking it was!

Thanks for the fun post.

Don't agree that God can't do anything. Agree that he can't step in and alter physical - material actions.

But, I have always believed that God will provide comfort, strength, love and insight into individuals who are trying to best deal with the situation. In that way, God can give people the strength and inspiration to set about to change the situation themselves.

I suspect we are in total agreement.

The real reason he has quit is far more spectacular.

It is to save the Catholic Church from ignominy: he has voluntarily delivered himself up as a sacrificial lamb to purge the Church of what he calls ‘The Filth’. And it must have taken courage.

Here is the remarkable thing you are seldom told about a papal death or resignation: every one of the senior office-holders in the Vatican – those at the highest level of its internal bureaucracy, called the Curia – loses his job.

A report Benedict himself commissioned into the state of the Curia landed on his desk in January. It revealed that ‘The Filth’ – or more specifically, the paedophile priest scandal – had entered the bureaucracy.

He resigned in early February. That report was a final straw. The Filth has been corroding the soul of the Catholic Church for years, and the reason is the power-grabbing ineptitude and secrecy of the Curia – which failed to deal with the perpetrators. Now the Curia itself stands accused of being part of The Filth.

Benedict realises the Curia must be reformed root and branch. He knows this is a mammoth task.

He is too old, and too implicated, to clean it up himself. He has resigned to make way for a younger, more dynamic successor, untainted by scandal – and a similarly recast Curia.

Benedict was not prepared to wait for his own death to sweep out the gang who run the place.

In one extraordinary gesture, by resigning, he gets rid of the lot of them

No way....... there is absolutely no way that a special commission convened by Benedict told him something that he and every other person in the "know" in the Vatican and prob around the world didnt already know.....that the Vactican is infested with sexual filth

it has been common knowledge that this city , the Vatican is infested with sexual immorality .... it's been that way since the Borgias and before

the Truth is that it has always been this way and the "true " church of God never would of descended into the depths of sin that the RCC did

The resignation of Benedict has nothing to do with humility or the supposed " cleaning up of the church"

Is has everything to do with misdirection and putting themselves in position to be a major world player in the upcoming upheaval the world is about to face ...especially financially and "spiritually " ......and what better man the Pope Francis .... he's already gained world wide respect for his desire to help people in need finically

in 2011 Cardinal Peter Turkson wrote an official Vatican paper calling for the establishment of a new World Bank to help nations that were going through recession and depression ...... the paper said that in return for finicail help that the lendee would prob have to give up some sovereignty ...

This all has to do with the coming Ecoonomic collaspe of world governments ....the establishing of a new economic system for the world and a more organized, fully ecuminalized religious world order with the Pope leading the way

The Antichrist , Beast , Whore of Babylon system

I can sure see why the vatican would want to position themselves early for such a change - but why not Ratzinger to lead them? He is from the "old world" where the money comes from and probably has more power/prestige with the ruling families in Europe?

Or is it that he is too entrenched in the old ways (or simply way too old) to see it through?

Lastly, why not choose a much younger, more dynamic man than Francis, it is usually the young that can rally large swaths to abandon old ideas of sovereignty and put hope into a new world order???

Just thinking out loud with questions. Thanks for the interesting ideas.

Re: Serious Question: Why did Benedict 16th REALLY Retire????
because they needed a pope with a "humble" image. one that will appease the people whom they know are about to experience a global economic crash. one who the "flock" will identify with better, one who will fill their faith as their tummys grow hungrier..so they chose this guy, who would choose St.Francis ( the poorest of the poor saints) as his pope name.
