First, the US military has been hardneing against EMPs since the 60's.
Second, North Korea does not have the equipment required to reach the United States.
Third, if they did, it would be sunk before it got close.
The list goes on, but North Korea does not have the resources to land large amounts of troops on American soil at this time.

Now! Don't get me wrong here. I am not a supporter of North Korea attacking the US, but I also am a realist in the fact that one can only endure so much before they break and retaliate.

A lot of experts think that NK can send a nuke across the ocean. I doubt it. If they could, it would be fairly simple to detonate in the upper atmosphere and knock out the western half of the country. Once the power grid is down, the Red Dawn scenario is just a walk in the park. They don't have the technology to do that to the whole country, so maybe we could mount a defense from the east. With our military spread out over the whole world, it might be difficult to defend our own shores. The patriotic citizens of the western US would be the primary defense. There are hundreds of millions of guns in the USA and most of them are west of the Mississippi. Millions of hunters could very easily become snipers. They wouldn't have to confront the invading army, they keep picking at the edges of the invading army. It would make us harder to conquer than Afghanistan.

Is that why Obama wants to round up the guns or shut off the ammo? How many people have stockpiled ammo for their 30 06? Probably not everyone.

If a Red Dawn scenario happens it will be the Coup de grâce, the Asians make plans that take decades to carry out. First they will immigrate to North America, quietly buy houses, key business (food, gas, ports, politicians, infrastructure, large tracks of land new military installations)

When they have enough power and numbers they will implement their culture and laws. A Red Dawn would be a plan b.

We have entire cities in Canada that all you see is Chinese signs on businesses, and a defacto use of their rules and laws.

I don't say this lightly and am hesitant to say it at all, but I have a uncle scenario, who in reality is a very good friend of mine that is recently retired from a top security position with the military. He and I was talking and I asked the question about the large grabs of ammo DHS is making. His response...well it would need to be in a thread all itself.

So in saying all that I believe the reason for the gun grab and ammo situation is for a opposite reason than a attack from another country, (hint) but from within are own borders.

Hawaii is not the mainland. The movie you reference is about a ground invasion of the lower 48. North Korea doesn't have the capability to do it. China will some day, but they don't want to do it.

I do think you might be onto something there. I for one believe that an attack can come from within are borders from the many so called plants that have been accumulating for years waiting to be activated, and I could be wrong, but what better way to gain intel than becoming one.

First off, the idea for a sky full of troop planes, is preposterous. We have eyes on the world's strategic forces, and if anything was heading our-way, we'd know about it. There is no chance of the CONUS being 'invaded' unless we let it happen..

Simply put, China(who is heading ever more Blue-water) has the only navy even close to capable, of reaching our shores with a troop-mass. I think we'd notice.
