People openly accepted that UFO's were aliend craft in the 50's. J Allen Hynek contrived any reason he could for every sighting reported and labeled belivers insane with government approval. Hynek reversed his position in the 70's and became a believer. He died known as a well respected ufologist regardless of his government blue book Psyops of the 50's and 60's
