Yep. And the idiots that were chanting "Cut the spending" just a few weeks ago are now taking a very different tone as services are suspended or otherwise cut back. "Hey now, I don't want to fly out of an airport without air traffic controllers..." Guess you idiots didn't stop to question those who were feeding you your lines. Maybe some of these services actually benefit you and the collective.

Notice also that neither Republicans in Congress or the Senate thought spending was bad enough to cut their own pay.

Who else is going to do it? Homeschooling/private education isn't an option for most parents. Women are allowed outside of the house. Corporations can't be trusted to police themselves. The freemarket won't 'fix' any of the issues I mentioned on its own. Those in power will just collude to keep the status-quo. The only thing that I mentioned that an individual can reasonably do on their own is prepare for a natural disaster. Even then, when one loses everything, how can they rebuild?

You have access to an education (I think...), safe roads, public utilities, police, a military to protect you from foreign invaders, and money to help you on your way if everything you own is destroyed in a natural disaster. You are benefiting from these service on a day to day basis. Those who benefit from services rendered typically have to pay for such services. This is part of our social contract.

You're one of these typical libertarian mental giants that think they are entitled to live in a first world country without having to shoulder at least some of the burden by paying for the services you wish to cut.

There is no a la carte plan where you get to pick and choose which services you tax money funds. That's not how it works. That will never be how it works. These services exist for a reason. They benefit a plurality of people. If they didn't exist you would end up paying for them in another way. You'd have to pay for the use of private road ways. You'd end up having festering tumors across your entire body from pollution.

Move to a less developed part of the world.
