Extra-biblical tradition maintains that he died on the 11th of Cheshvan of the year 1656 (Anno Mundi, after Creation), at the age of 969, seven days before the beginning of the Great Flood. Methuselah was the son of Enoch and the grandfather of Noah. [link to en.wikipedia.org] |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4901221 Linda McCartney died at 56 of cancer. She was fiercely vegetarian. Plenty of other vegetarians have died early from diseases. On the other hand, I've known quite a few people who lived into their late 90s and some over 100, the oldest being 106. Not one of them was vegetarian. |

Fixed if for you. thats your loss, you can have your bland boild meat, the vegetarians can have all of the tasty herbs and spices. If you are just boiling your meat you are doing it wrong. Also, has anyone ever salivated over a carrot the way people do over a nice steak? I think not. |

Don't expose yourself to second hand smoke and stay away from too much stress. Quoting: The Real Nobody Oldest Woman - Jeanne Calment "Calment smoked from the age of 21 (1896) to 117 (1992),[2][15] though according to an unspecified source, she smoked no more than two cigarettes per day.[16] After her operation, Calment needed to use a wheelchair. She weighed 45 kilograms (99 lb) in 1994. Calment ascribed her longevity and relatively youthful appearance for her age to olive oil, which she said she poured on all her food[5] and rubbed onto her skin, as well as a diet of port wine, and ate nearly one kilogram (2.2 lb) of chocolate every week.[12]" [link to en.wikipedia.org] |

He lived through the life's of 10 Kings and the current King at the time invited him to the palace to honor his long lifespan. Apparently he credited his long life to eating simple foods or something. But after a huge feast, the old man died in his sleep and the King felt guilty thinknig it was the rich foods that killed him and he had him buried in a tomb with Royalty. Like I said I can't remember where I read this. I assume it has to be mostly fictional, but pretty cool if half way true. |
