1 Labour surplus;

2 derived value on the labour surplus...fractionalising, securitising and debt. Debt in effect is tomorrows labour surplus brought forward. Fractionalising is labour surplus amplified by a fiction. Securitising is labour surplus amplified by creating derived assets.

Basically they are trying to get more and more out of the same unit of labour. Fortunately, they have billions in Asia as capacity which is why China for example, can do no wrong whereas Russia is kept at arms length.

We get 'fresh' fruit from Chile! Not Florida or even California [California is 3000 miles from me, so even that is pretty far]. Chile is I'm guessing at least 5000 miles from me here in the northeast US.

We grow great potatos and apples here in New England, yet many in the stores are from Washington State [Pacific Northwest US, about 3000 miles opposite end of the continent], Wisconsin [midwest], etc., New England is a prime growing area for cranberries, yet regular supermarkets stock a lot of cranberries from Wisconsin [midwest state, over 1000 miles away], etc.

I've got nothing against Wisconsin, Washington State, or even Chile. It's just amusing much of our 'fresh' fruit is sourced from so far away when more local is readily available.

i see a lot of produce from mexico and south america. farmers markets are where its at for the things you can't grow yourself.
