Everyone in my family smoked, so I thought I was cool with my candy cigs. And yeah, I remember the Flintsone cigarette commercials. Good times! Cobbers (choc covered caramel squares, bit like fantales only a harder caramel, could get them with or without coconut) were my fave. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 37017992 Sounds good. Most of our candy was cheap and tacky. "When tyrants tremble in their fear, and hear their death knell ringing, When friends rejoice both far and near, how can I keep from singing" page7 |

I used to love going to the store to pick up a bag of penny candy, at that time the candy was 3 for a penny, so for 10cents we used to get alot of candy! Quoting: katballoo yes yes, this 100% , loved the red tips, that was cool , and yes penny candy was abundance , a dime would get you a samll bag of candy that would last for the day, if you didn't share Last Edited by JUST HERE on 03/28/2013 05:39 AM :glp sign: |

I see them in non-franchise groceries a lot because major chains won't touch the things. And they are marked as "candy sticks" now and not "candy cigarettes". One or two packs of them usually turn up in my kids' sacks on Halloween. |

john1054 User ID: 10300657 United States 03/28/2013 05:52 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Anybody remember the song "Big Rock Candy Mountain"? It was about an imaginary paradise for hobos riding the rails. There used to be a line there about "cigarette trees". Later, the piece was re-written as a childrens' song for about candy-land. In that version, which is the only one you hear these days, the cigarette trees were replaced by cinnamon trees. |

When I was a kid Pall Mall was my favorite because that was what my parents smoked. I bought a box for old time's sake last year. They taste about the same, only less sweet than I remember. Probably HFCS instead of Cane Sugar. |
