Hey everyone...been combing around on GLP for a number of years now and feel like it is time to finally post. I live in VA beach, home of one of the largest navy bases (if not THE largest) and I am used to jet noise shaking my house all of the time. Tonight is different...there is some serious activity going on here right now. Atleast every 10 to 15 minutes there is a jet or helo flying by. I just wanted to throw it out there for all of you to read and heed...stay safe all..

O.K. As best as I can gather, after chasing this White Rabbit all bling blang day is that it's STRICTLY a possible chemical issue. Due to N. Korea making threats, a moderate "incident" occurred but when coupled with the threats they chose to be safe rather than sorry.

"Safe rather than sorry" doesn't really ring true to me where Obama is concerned, so I suspect that whatever "IT" was this morning, it was a viable enough of a threat to make Obumbler pee his pants enough to make him act. (Remember the Somali pirates incident??) The news right now though is that NO one is scurrying anymore and there's not "red alert" any longer and the USAF is no longer on stand-by.

I suspect that there are a a lot more of these that happen everyday that none of us catch wind of, and it just so happened that enough of my kind of people were privy to the news so that's why it got to me. It's no problem, though, if you're one of the tipsters and reading this. I'll always chase a decent lead if it's given regardless of what the conclusion is. But then again that's why I try to be clear on what IS and is NOT confirmed.

I'm just west of you, and I've only heard one helo tonight flying really low - which I assume is probably just medical operations from the hospitals.

Just checked ...alert status is orange..high..doesnt say anything about red.

i've been at the airport all day, just got home... nothing unusual and if anything military has been rather quiet today. drove past the checkpoint and base side around 3pm, just as quiet and relatively empty as usual. anything specific to look for, that would indicate imminent doom? other than sirens!
