Since the re-selection , lol I have seen a 50% drop in business. Just want to talk to other folks who are self employed and bounce ideas and thoughts? With a 0.04% growth anounced today in the U.S. economy I am not shocked at the phone not ringing as much? How about you...........? Quoting: GT500 Since 2009 my business has dropped year after year. I have had to let go of 20 of 25 employes, I dont get paid, and just hanging on for dear life. Almost every other business I know has and continues to suffer beyond imagining. My bank now holds all my deposits up to 2 weeks because so many clients bounce checks to us....recovery??? I think not. Its all smoke and mirrors . Things seem to be getting worse month after month. BTW from highs in 2008 Ive seen 85% drop in business. same here, started my business in 2003 and saw steady growth peaking in 2009....slow steady downhill from there. It is sickening that the subs we kept busy now are scratching for work too. And we lost some rental properties in the bankruptcy. Those people that were renting those homes, well, they all had to find new places to rent. There was nothing we could do. Now, if we could have just won the powerball that would have been a different story. Lottery is a sham !!!! Stay strong brother , thanks for post! |

Not to mention the RIDICULOUS fees that CC processors are charging these days!!! INSANITY, I was paying like $40 on chargebacks that weren't my fault..... plus all kinds of fees, it was freaking stupid. In the process of re-opening shop & only doing web-design for small business's. I'll probably only accept |pitcoin, paypal, or money orders this time. I swear to god authorize.net & my processor probably took 35% of my profits..unreal. Not the intel Im getting................Zazz? Well, I don't know where you're getting your infromation from!! Tons of opportunities here. Lots of money being spent, besides tech, I see a lot of concierge type businesses to help working moms/dads..there's a ton of money to be made. You just have to provide a service that people want, that people can afford. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1461405 United States 03/28/2013 06:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | OP... ... I would have tweaked your question a bit. I would have asked how's business if you're NOT a Freemason. Freemasons are promised the spoils of cash. They help each other out. Their business logos are coded (with a crescent) to let other masons know who's who. Those not in these secretive clubs are on their own. In my little town, business is booming at one pizza shop (and you can see all of the Masons there - stickers on their cars and license plates). Their food is just okay. The service is poor. And it's SUPER expensive... ... Yet all other pizza shops here (which have far superior pizza and cheaper prices) are dead. Like worried about staying open next week. One pizza shop slashed (again) their pizza to $7.99 for a large. I know they're going to be out of business soon, because you can't make a profit at that low price (no matter how many toppings and sodas they sell). I'd bet 99 out of 100 people who say business is good is in "the club." Of course, since they swear to secrets, they'll never admit it. |

Besides the algo changes, the only real way to make money is through content creation which is time intensive. The easy money in SEO is gone. Try mobile dev and data science. Tons of opportunities there! |
