Quoting: Salt i need to spend a few minutes with that. the stress your body must have been under during that dream! I didnt actually feel much stress. I was rather calm actually. Its like I KNEW I would be OK. And also at tha part where the tank of the truck was coming down right on my head..there was no fear. I just accepted it and looked at it saying "So doomed"..like..ah well..gotta die somehow. But even then I felt no actual fear..like I just KNEW it was all OK..even if I died. it's weird isn't it?...excepting death on an unconscious level. have you ever attempted lucid dreaming? It WAS a lucid dream..I was able to effect the outcome of the fall by thinking about it. I KNEW it was a dream while I was IN the dream. |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 21291600 United States 03/28/2013 04:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This morning, after I got my daughter off to school, i went back to sleep for about an hour and had this disturbing dream. Quoting: Salt The dream begins with me taking a bath, but I am fully clothed. Black sweats, black hoodie and black boots (my usual lounge-around-the-house attire). I think to myself that its strange that I am wearing clothes in the tub. But, I am not in there to get clean. I must be soaking... My daughter yells up from downstairs, "Mom?" (she is wondering where I am) I yell down, "I am in the tub." Next thing I see is my laptop perched on a table next to the tub. It begins to slide down and the right corner of it gets into the water. I grab it and immediately realize I am being electrocuted. I think "oh no" and "that was stupid to grab it". I feel the electricity grab hold of me and I am dying and I should pound my fist on the side of the tub so my daughter can hear me, but I can't move. I feel myself dying, slipping into black, knowing that nobody will hear. I wake. sidenote: i am not a bath person. i am strictly a shower person. this dream is giving me the creeps. any interpretation is appreciated. never had a dying dream before. Hi Salt, A dream about dying doesn't always mean a physical death. Black represents death--color most wear at funerals--you wearing black could mean the death of someone or something else. Your daughter calling to you could symbolize your responsibility, but also a voice of security--you're not alone, a familiar voice is calling out to you. Soaking in the tub--a need to relax, to soak away pain, wash away painful memories and start anew. Computer next to you while you are in the tub could symbolize that you can't pull away from work, you need a break, but you can't seem to totally relax because of your responsibility. Could be then that somebody's death left subconscious regrets because it left you with overwhelming responsibilities. You want to start all over, cleanse yourself from past memories, but time is passing on and you can't fully let go of your responsibilities (daughter calling). The computer also is symbolic of memory, your brain. Maybe the dream symbolizes your need of a cleansing, and death to a subconscious regret so you can move on. Then again, maybe you were just tired, fell asleep and the movie playing in the background invaded your subconscious thoughts with some strange imagery that has no meaning at all. wow. reading thru you post sparked things i identify with. thanks |

I've been diagnosed with TMJ because of it. It WAS a lucid dream..I was able to effect the outcome of the fall by thinking about it. I KNEW it was a dream while I was IN the dream. Nice! Lucid dreaming is very difficult...took me 20 years to master! once you realize you are dreaming you tend to wake up... that's why it takes practice just like any other skill. Keeping a dream log is the 1st step to mastering the art of Lucid Dreaming... we tend to forget our dreams within an hour of waking up...sometimes minutes... the trick is to write them down to help preserve the unconscious thought... after a while of logging your dreams you will be able to sustain the REM stage of sleep and manipulate the outcome of almost every dream... I stopped the practice because it started to freak me out! for instance, I was in a dream telling people that I was dreaming....explaining to them that I can do what ever I want...and demonstrating so. floating, flying, etc.... It got to the point where I had every ones attention and they were just as freaked out about it as I once was! After I had everyone convinced that I wasn't really there and that their world wasnt my REAL world I tried something that today gives me serious goosebumps.... I attempted to give someone in my dream my cell phone number so they could call me in MY world.... before I could give the last 2 digits I was woken up by my wife and could NOT fall back asleep to finish the dream! I was so close to connecting my Dream world to my reality... scary shit right? how f'd up would that be if someone called me from another dimension? I know.. I'm a weirdo......right? You seek the internet to get knowledge and a bath to soak in water when the True Water that will soak through you is the Word of God and the True knowledge is the Holy Bible and if you follow the Word of God you willfeel the power surge through you that is His Holy Spirit or you can stay with the things of the world that will bring you despair. Your daughter represents the people not yet in His Church who also need to know His Word and He needs you to learn His Word and impart this knowledge on others. |
