I'm opting out of all this information gathering crap. Said goodbye to google, facebook and all that other crap a year ago.

I'm surprised that didn't crash the system. The dicks at the customer support line transferring and putting on hold, and the stupid ass automated system not knowing what's happening :)

It all gets connected and linked within the Facebook / Google government database they have created for everyone.

It's not the websites Einstein.....it's bigger than that.

What a tragedy...

It's cuz someone was using your computer in a DOS attack probably. You got hacked and someone was using your computer to hack youtube.

What kind of virus software do you use?

it means nothing. it's an excuse to give you that page and slowly but surely collect more and more information about you.

You do not have to give it, period. A billion people signed up there and this place has to have a thread about stupidness of people.

The algorithmic noose of manipulation towards destruction tightens.

This happened to my gmail account after it told me that something 'suspicious' or words to that effect was going on inside of it. So they asked that I give them my phone number or a phone number so they/I could text and verify it was me.

There was no other option except to give my number out to google. I don't actually own a landline or a cellphone - so, it is impossible.

I do fear for a future where one MUST be connected to the internet or wireless world in which to operate. It may sound nutty, but I believe we are being ushered into an age of zero tolerance for persons uninterested in certain advancements.

Of course, I believe that in the interest of "fairness", people will be offered free versions. (ahem: obamaphones). It is becoming excuseless to be without a cellphone.

I was prompted to do the same thing just a couple of days ago.

So now youtube, which is owned by Google, which is owned by G.E., which is run by Jeff Immelt, obama's "jobs czar", can go fuck themselves with all the others sites I've personally banned.

Happened to me as well. couldn't use my UserID that I originally had. :(

Just to access my account. I can still search and watch videos, but can not log onto my account without providing the information, which in this case is a phone number.

I really don't care... I've never even posted a video there.

The cool thing is, the more regulated the interwebz becomes, the further underground I go.

I did a Bing search of my name... and I'm clean as a whistle because I HAVE NEVER USED MY REAL NAME FOR ANY OF THESE ACCOUNTS.

These info-miners can mine somebody else's info.

It is a little creepy, MO. I have my accounts there, but pretty much never log in on YouTube, for the music browsing I do, I've never found it necessary.

You need a real number to verify the account. It asks you to enter a challenge number and then enter it... If you dont then no account. Oh well. You Tube sucks anyway.

THEIR OTHER SITES BESIDES YOU TUBE.

THEIR WILL SOON LOSE MEMBERS AND THEIR SITE WILL BECOME STALE. IT IS A DEATH BLOW TO THEM.
