9mm ammo | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 8397139 United States 03/29/2013 09:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I used to shoot 1-2 times a week at my local range. I haven't gone in the past 2-3 months because of the ammo shortages. :( Quoting: ifSHTF I also can't do 3-gun this year because of it. I'm so sick of people ordering 20,000-30,000 at arfcom with the sole intent to resell it. Its entirely screwed my 3-gun season. I have ammo - but not enough to feel comfortable shooting it for a full 3-gun season without restocking it... 3-gun eh? Very cool! But yes, my philosophy is if it's not readily available at the store then what I've got at home becomes strictly "rainy day" supply. |

I wont shoot reloads at all. Seen to many problems with them. Some people like them i dont. Ibought 3 boxes of PPU 9mm at Walmart six weeks ago. Id never heard of it but it looked good. I wish i would have bought more. Ishot it threw a hi point a glock and a smith 5904. All three guns worked perfect with it. It was accurate and shot clean. Ill buy more if i can find more. |

Quoting: Shadowdog 35582792 Yeah....the green brass would raise red flags....actually my reloads are as good as factory ammo...I tumble clean all my once fired brass, all my charges are weighed, I use copper plated or jacketed bullets, and I check all my reloads with a chamber gauge....the ones I put into storage gets a lacquer sealant around the primer and bullet... |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 36583121 United States 03/29/2013 10:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Problem is, with a shortage of this magnitude, nobody I know is shooting. I don't like not being able to go to the range. Same here, I haven't been shooting in months. Too expensive. Plus, in my area, kind of scary. The last time I went up to the BLM shooting range there were a bunch of guys there with semi-auto rifles and several cases of beer, and it was barely past noon. I just don't like to mix guns and alcohol, so I haven't been back since; especially since I'm a woman and now single. I might have to break down and see if I can get some at MallWart. I don't like stepping foot in that place, but if it's available nowhere else at a semi-reasonable price... I do have several hundred rounds for now. But again, I don't like not being able to practice. |

His house was out in the sticks. Not too far away were two people blazing away with ak 47s or sks. I couldnt help but think they were just wasting precious ammo. Ill agree alcohol and guns dont mix. I wont shoot with people who are drinking. |

Only found 2 boxes twenty dollars a box. This is getting stupid. One guy has some generic crap for thirty a box. Im not paying that. He wanted 15.00 for it three months ago.He also wants 60.00 for 525 rounds of .22 lr. Anyone else having any better luck. It seems like in Indiana 9mm is the hardest pistol ammo to find. Still finding 40 sw 45 acp 380 acp and 38 special at okay prices. Quoting: Shadowdog 35582792 Us Prepper's told Yall to "Load -Up" in 2010 for 2012. If you had listened, you'd be good to go. I can understand a 9mm shortage, as its a defensive round still in use, but .22 LR... The squirrel population should be shitting bricks right about now, as we're on the cusp of a squirrel genocide event with as much .22 LR floating around out there. |

Quoting: Shadowdog 35582792 I figured one should have 1000 rounds. You're being paranoid if anymore. All depends on how much shooting you do. doesn't it? I used to go through that in a day shooting with my daughter. We used to shoot Richardson's ground squirrels. Government is a body largely ungoverned. |

Like always i went to sporting goods to look at their near empty ammo case. It was not empty. It wasnt there anymore. Gone. They had a few boxes of shotgun shells on the shelves where the ammo case used to be. Now what the hells going on. They have had that case there for years. I just asked them a couple weeks ago if they were going to keep selling ammo and they said they were. |

Someone will figure out how to restock the country and make themselves rich in the process. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27741990 I agree. As much as they want to, at this point the parasites still don't completely control the market and private enterprise. Last Edited by s. d. butler on 03/31/2013 08:25 PM |

I was just looking at a round Esbit stove. Looks like a great wind shield built into the stove. I'm about to make a large purchase of Espit cubes. Great for starting campfires also when the wood is damp. |
