no one ignores this one. its just that natural people have no understanding of the plan of God and his word. things changed with the progression of humanity like a parent-child relationship changes from childhood to teen years to adulthood. (but this doesnt mean everything in the old testament no longer applies, certain things are absolutes like homosexuality being a sin and perversion for example; its up to you to be able to discern what is an absolute or not and only being born again will that happen). During mankinds infancy in ancient israel they had to be schooled of Gods ways and punishments had to be severe to show the importance of Gods ways both for the present and for all generations into the future to fulfill Gods plan and to point to Christs crucifixion and sacrifice for the atonement of sins. many things in the old testament were also traditions of men being corrected by God as well; again you must be born again into spirit through Christ to understand these things, a natural person cannot
