Too many fake & role playing threads. This is lowering the overall $ value of the site.

People think of GLP as a site about conspiracy, current affairs, breaking news & science issues. All with a bit of a wild sense of humor, constant bickering and the use of terms like troll, schill & sheeple.

All this role playing shit belongs to losers who live with their parents and talk to themselves via proxy.

Bring back the shit fights over real topical material. As another poster pointed out stupid dumb ass nibiru threads have more credibility than some dumb ass kid pretending to be a Dr here to warn about non existent meteors hitting the earth. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I don't think there is anyone who has been here longer that me, I came here a little after 9/11 (2001) site was only two pages, home page talking about some new age mumbo jumbo and then a proto-forum page (maybe only 20 threads total)...Did not become a regular visitor until around 2002. Site was good until the neo-nazi's started showing up around 2005-2006, the with the blessing of new owner/mods. Then 2007 till about two months ago I call it the "era of the bans", say one thing against the far right wing agenda...bam you are banned, sometimes for months at a time. 2009 started a total hate agenda against Obama and minorities in general. I say the past three weeks have been the most free and pleasant in years but who knows how long this will last.

To answer OP question, depends on your perspective of what "dumber" means

IN short... Yes!

I have been lurking and occaisionally posting since 2002 - really getting into the Nibiru stuff in 2003. Did not go building bunkers or anything, just spent a lot of time star gazing (and learnt a helluva lot about astronomy as a result).

Early on, there were lots of great, civilised, informative threads about fringe sciences, paranormal stuff, alternative health, alternative histories, prophecy - many threads sparked research paths I joyously followed through the internet simply for the sake of learning. People were free to express their discoveries without getting bible bashed, abused or accused of being a Troll.

Sadly, those days are long gone. Rarely do I find a thread worth reading, but I still return daily. I guess I am addicted. I do find that the news breaks earlier on this forum than in our local media outlets, often by several days.

I do recall some cool videos posted late last year about ancient mountain sites in Peru that look like they have been carved into different animals and people. Debate rages about wether they are natural formations or constructions by long gone ancients, but one of the most important things I got from that thread was that life is all about perspective - things change greatly when you consider stuff from different angles.

I find the increase in juvenile, "look at me! I'm on the internet mum!" type threads a bore, and the racist, religious comments that derail some of the best threads a disappointment to say the least. I guess the website is reflecting the downward shift in society prohecised by the hopis when we passed the point of no return a couple of years ago and took the lower path.

So, OP, my answer is yes - the increase in traffic by Gen Y has lowered the quality and calibre of the once mighty Godlike Productions to little more than a voyuer's wet dream.

I agree because I was here in the glory days. There were no hate and/or stupid threads then, just lots of good info on a variety of subjects. Those threads made you think and expanded your horizons. Now there are no visible horizons and I ask myself every day why I bother to come here anymore and I wonder where all the good posters from the glory days went.

I don't know why you would say that, nothing at all has changed.
There are quite a few people who have been here 10 years plus.
Our own interests may change over time, but I would think the thrill is there for those who haven't been super saturated with it for years. I know I get some good laughs and find interesting things to read.

Speaking as one who was here when Kent ran the roost, in my opinion, the current ownership censor people who they do not like the opinions of, and as a result, you are left with people who are more ignorant, simply because the more interesting people have left in disgust.

What I find weird, is that many westerners at GLP seem to think that they think differently from the rest of the world, but yet they are usually as brainwashed or more, than the rest of the world they seem to scorn.

Anyone who thinks that there is a difference between Republicans and Democrats for example - I mean WTF?? Why are you even here?

This place used to be the virtual equivalent of the bar scene in the first Star Wars.

These days it is a typical bar scene in any small redneck christian town in Texas by comparison.
