I know there has been a few episodes of fish die-offs in SOCAL, but the question must be proposed: why is a specific mammal dying off? If there were a truly emergent toxic situation, radiation or otherwise, why aren't the lower life forms dying off in droves as well. Just asking.

There is no live coral, so-to-speak, that is indigenous to So. Cal. waters. I used to dive there; if there is some-- it's microscopic.
