How the hell did the bunny rabbit get involved in easter? | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 14408911 United States 03/30/2013 07:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Its because the rabbit and egg part is from the Pagan religion (fertility). Quoting: Anonymous Coward 35598648 All the death torture people nailed to wood is the Christian part, Real Christian kids are not allowed eater eggs or bunnys, it says in the bible not to worship other idols. Why the rabbit? Are rabbits the most fertile creatures on the planet? Well not quite, but because the produce so many offspring eggs and rabbits(or hares) are fertility symbols of antiquity. Since birds lay eggs and rabbits and hares give birth to large litters in the early spring, these became symbols of the rising fertility of the earth at the March Equinox. The idea of an egg-laying bunny came to the U.S. in the 18th century some time. and most other countries don't associate the eggs coming from the rabbit, but as to parts of the Pagan holiday. But rabbits do NOT lay eggs. They give birth. Rabbits are mammals. That doesn't make sense. The Easter Bunny doesn't lay eggs, he delivers them. The pictures show him carrying a basket full of eggs. He didn't lay those eggs, he got them from chickens, decorated them and brings them to the children. |

My two cents is goes back to Lilith, first consort of Adam who moved on (for whatever reason, not that there's anyting wrong with that) and hooked up with the serpent or snake. The fuzzy bunny was introduced at some point to mask origin and meaning of the celebration. |

As soon as the egg opened, she turned a bird into an egg-laying rabbit to demonstrate her powers and to celebrate fertility. Because I believe and follow Jesus Christ, my family does not celebrate Easter/Ishtar but we do celebrate Jesus Christ's resurrection from the dead following Passover. Most Christians are fooled by Easter and Good Friday because they don't have a CLUE what the Bible says about 1) not learning the ways of the pagans and 2) Jesus said He would be in the grave 3 days and 3 nights...if they did the math, they would know that Good Friday to Easter Sunday is not 3 days and 3 nights. What "Christians" are doing passing these traditions on through their children is dangerous and highly criticized in the Bible. |

Quoting: Seagal695 So, what's the answer? What does the big Easter bunny bring goodies to children have to do with Jesus? Good question. What do you think? Maybe...the children were just waking, peered out from their deer skin curtains, and saw a bunny hopping with an egg, in which, the children were hungry...and assumed the bunnys egg was for them. Then again, maybe bunnies were brought to the children, to eat, as a specialty item for their Easter dinner. Inquiring minds would like to know ;) |
