"ExxonMobil released the following updated information Saturday afternoon concerning the pipeline rupture in Mayflower that took place Friday.

Emergency response personnel were on the ground within 30 minutes after the leak was detected.Approximately 100 ExxonMobil employeesare responding to the incident in addition to federal, state, and local resources.
Emergency response efforts are focused on ensuring the safety of the community members and the response workers, addressing community concerns and the clean-up process. Precautions are in place to keep oil away from Lake Conway.
The City of Mayflower recommended that 22 homes on Starlite Road and Shade Tree Lane be evacuated; all residents evacuated following notifications by the Mayflower Police Department.
CTEH, professional hygienist authorities, are conducting continuous air quality monitoring. The air quality does not present a human health risk, with the exception of the high pooling areas, where clean-up crews are working with safety equipment." more on site.

Unless you live near the area then it can be easily mistaken. I doubt it was intentional.
 Quoting: SumTingWong

That makes zero sense. There was no earthquake on the day of the rupture. The title is false, whether you live in the area or not.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 34375799

wrong!
 Quoting: babycakes

What the fuck? There was no goddamn earthquake the day of the rupture !!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 34375799

Ahh, but there was. It was a quiet one that didn't move the earth. It will show up in the future. When we have not a drop of safe water to drink, and lack of food because we can't irrigate and prime farmland is destroyed, and we'd give all our gold for one drop of water, the oil won't be important.

The issue goes far deeper than the New Madrid or earthquakes, it's the water aquifers. Then, we'll care.

Re: UPDATED:Exxon Pipeline Ruptured In ARKANSAS. New Madrid Zone 2.1 Mag EQ
The pipelines are federally regulated by the Texas Rail Way Commission, which was a throw back to when Rockefella bypassed the railways transport of oil, and made pipelines.

The pipelines are almost comnpletely automatically monitored, and that a rupture occured IS big news, especially of this size.

There arent too many nations on earth with a pipeline network as large and complex as the one in the US. In fact, most still opt for bulk carriers to refineries, rather than pipelines. But you guys carry oil, gas, combinations to increase flow etc.

That many of these start in the GoM, and many of the salt domes across the US are used for reserves to store all these hydrocarbons SHOULD be of interest to yall.

Things seem to be breaking down of late. Whether its as a poster above stated, through corporate greed, and skimming on maintenance (which I doubt, as they try to save every drop) or something within the system creating these 'events' through increased pressure, or what not, something does seem to be happening.

Coal seam gas fracking seems to have removed the "we pretty much know this will happen" historical geological approach to hydrocarbon geo-engineering as it has allowed fluids to go where they had never gone before, and that is having an effect on the old networks, regardless of limiters and regulators within the systems.

Did you know pipelines are massively effected by CMEs and other galactic incomming rays? Look it up. Any grid, interconnected is vulnerable to cosmic radiation.

We are also entering a massively charge period in space time right now.

Theres a lot going on.

To say that the quake, which happened before the rupture, wasn't related to what eventually led to the rupture is a little self assured. I only alluded to the possibility of a connection. The post where I asked others to reread my links was directed at individuals who we're denying the fact the a quake ever took place. I am all for fine tuning the info through criticism, but I think some are starting to lose sight of the threads main point, which was the incident and what
"I" believe precipitated it. People should caution reading into their own interpretations of others intent. If I'm wrong let it be, but I never said with certainty they we're related and I was aware of the info I asked others to reconsider. I ask the shit talkers to reconsider what they thought I was getting at. I do think they were related, that why I posted it all. Thanks for all the input. Peace and Love, even to the haters.

Quakes can travel very differently now, thanks to all the fracking, and now super fracked zones across the US.

Body and surface waves will need to be redefined in these zones. Solids >>> liquids >> solids

Re: UPDATED:Exxon Pipeline Ruptured In ARKANSAS. New Madrid Zone 2.1 Mag EQ
The pipeline industry insists there is no evidence that oil produced in the tar sands and diluted for pipeline transport is any more corrosive than conventional petroleum. And the Keystone pipeline’s developer, TransCanada, says the new pipeline would bear little resemblance to the 65-year-old artery that ruptured in Arkansas, which operator Exxon Mobil Corp. says it last inspected in February.

TransCanada says Keystone XL would employ state-of-the-art technology to avoid spills, including 57 special safety controls such as remote-controlled shutoff valves and thicker pipe at river crossings. The company also said the pipeline would be subject to more frequent inspections.

Critics say the industry has it both ways. While the regulatory system for pipeline operations treats the heavy Canadian oil no differently than conventional oil, a provision in the tax code can allow tar sands importers to avoid paying an excise tax that supports a spill cleanup fund.

“It’s really calling them on their own illogic,” Holt said.

Environmentalists point to the imperfect safety record of the current Keystone line, which has been delivering viscous tar sands crude from Canada to Illinois since 2010, as reason enough for concern.

“Treating tar sands oil like conventional crude is not protecting communities,” said Jim Murphy, senior counsel for the National Wildlife Federation.

Environmental groups have recently been pushing federal regulators to develop rules that would treat tar sands pipeline transport separately from that of conventional crude. Just three days before the Arkansas incident, a coalition of organizations petitioned the country’s chief pipeline regulator, the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, and the EPA to develop regulations that address the unique characteristics of tar sands crude. Companies are not required to notify regulators about what type of crude oil they are transporting, a spokesman for the pipeline regulatory agency said.

Re: UPDATED:Exxon Pipeline Ruptured In ARKANSAS. New Madrid Zone 2.1 Mag EQ
It's not yet clear what caused the spill. Exxon's Pegasus pipeline is 65 years old. It runs 858 miles from Illinois to Texas. It was adapted a few years ago to increase its capacity by 50 percent.

Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel, who is investigating the spill, visited the subdivision Wednesday.

"I have been reminded by Exxon's representatives that this is a relatively small spill and cleanup is going just great," he said. "I hope that they realize that to the homeowners in this area, it is not small — it is catastrophic."

McDaniel said he knows underground pipelines are essential to keeping the country's economy going. They carry fuel for cars, airplanes and home furnaces.

"We got to have that, but it has to be maintained," he said. "It has to be inspected."

McDaniel said Exxon has repeatedly told him that inspections were up to date and showed no cause for concern. He said the spill raises questions about whether the inspection process for aging pipelines is adequate.
