There is nothing more relaxing than a nice cigar after dinner. I believe the benefits in terms of stress relief and relaxation outweigh the health risks.

...

Hehe, in India ??
Stop smoking Bidis etc. for sure, but what about Yogi's, Sadhu's and Baba's smokings ? What about Rastas ?
Smoking has its' place.

Most cars sold in India today confirm to National pollution control standards.

Sadhus and the Sanyasis do not have to be the standard role model when you think about smoking. You can ascend even without the help of a joint.
THink Buddhist monks and meditation. Zen. Tao.

Yes, 'joints' are a terrible thing, a waste; I was thinking more of the fire chillum.

I have smoked with the Mahant of Bageshwar, and other most esteemed Himalayan mountain yogis, and as you can imagine they do have a legitimate point of view..
I heard of gangs of young Bikkhus getting drunk instead, not smoking because of maybe affecting their breathing exercises.
On the whole though, I agree, cigarettes etc. are crap; don't start folks !

Have you heard of Android Jones? He is a digital artist.
Recently he'd come to the Maha Kumbh Mela in India, and spent time with the sadhus there.
He wants to open an ashram in North India.
Check out his Kumbh art on his site.
First art work. Simply great!

hf Interesting; but an Ashram ?
Will send the link to a Giri friend in the Juna Akhara, he will like the first image, I'm sure.

Kicking your own ass is the best and only surefire way to become twice as strong as who you are now.

Think about it.

I know. Believe me. The pleasures are truly great.
But, the body was not created to be just a pleasure generator.
We have responsibilities too.

Give up this one pleasure, so you may move through life with a more healthy body.

Get rid of the idea that the NWO WANT you to stop smoking for some strange reason. If the NWO is installed, they can prevent people from smoking if they wanted to.
No matter how you look at it, like maybe aliens have figured out how to circumvent smokers bodies to their advantage or whatever, in the end, .....smoking is bad for your body.
Wouldn't you take care of your car if you had a nice one?
You would clean it, paint it, customize it, replace old parts with new ones, fit new tires, etc.
Smoking is akin to neglecting your car. The wheels rusted, dust everywhere, not maintained for a good many days. The paint peeled off, shocks gone, everything inside has a worn out look.
Don't touch your body. Leave it alone. Give it the best.
Don't intake anything that can harm it. Give it the best.
Deal with all frustations, depressions, sadness, anger, hatred, on the mental level.
I quit, after a really tuff battle. Giving up smoking is very easy. Its the relapses that can get you.

Again, leave your body alone.
Somebody gifted that to you.
Take care of it. Until you die.
I know it may be tough for some of you.
But you too can be tough. You have it in you.

Peace.
hf

P.S. Your body is more sophisticated than any car available today.

You sound like a young idealistic person Abhie. What are you addicted to? or what will you become addicted to? Most people develop at least on addiction in life, it helps them cope, and probably destroys them too.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 37153566

Wrong. Stop making assumptions.
I used to smoke one and a half packs of cigs per day.
Until my body screamed out to stop.
I went along with the NWO wants you to stop smoking shit.
But in the end it comes down to available good health.
I say available, cos you are facing flouridation, pollution, fertilizers, chlorination, et al.

I am not trying to be perfect. But trying to create an oasis within the chaotic world I face every day.
 Quoting: abhie

I started chewing tobacco at 9, smokes 2 years later. I'll quit when my body tells me too and not a moment before. A young woman asked me today if I had ever thought of 'quitting'...no, I replied, not until I'm bored of it. If I don't smoke the black mould toxicity makes my lungs fill up with goop. Mr Dr of TCM said smoke as long as you like until it no longer feels right. Some person online can't fathom the wisdom of that.
