Quoting: CATHOLIC 37178900 but why Christians believe that Jesus was dead for 3 days before he rose from the dead? the way I count it was only 1 day at the very most. He died on Friday sunset. Then Saturday was the Sabbath so no-one knows if he was dead or alive. Then Mary Magdalene went to check on him at first light Sunday morning and he was already gone. so at the very most he was only dead for one day, not 3 days? Because it wasnt a friday.if you read the Gospels it is clear there was 2 sabbaths that week therefore the alleged discrepancy in accounts. He was crucified wednesday.Placed in tomb early thursday lay there thursday friday saturday.Rose early sunday and with the ways days are counted this was 3 days and 3 nights. |

You must include the day He died. So it is counted as friday after His death, the whole saturday and the has risen on the sunday, the 3rd day. Jesus ate the Pasch lamb the day before it was usual for the jews ( the friday ) as Galileans were allowed to eat the paschal lamb 1 day in advance. So this was the thursday. Jesus has risen the first day of the week (for the jews), which is the sunday. |

Old news, the carbon dating has proven to be incorrect meanwhle as it has been shown that in the middle ages new threads were weaven against the old ones. The more you go to the center of the shroud, the older it is. Also by using a new technique - by determing the amount of lignine - it has proven that the shroud is 13000 - 3000 years old. This scientific paper has been published. [link to www.shroud.it] Also you can see the traces of the flagellations, the crown, the side wound, flowers and pollen,.... So those who say the shroud of turin was made in the middle ages, are giving old news. Science is returning bit by bit to its steps. Notice that the Catholic Church never has said that the shroud is a fake. |

The churches have lied to us to fit in their pagan holidays during this celebration! Christianity as we know it today has very little to do with the Savior and more to do we ancient gods and goddesses! But if you finally have been able to notice that Friday evening to Sunday morning can not make three days and three nights In the belly of the earth, YOU are waking up! Congratulations! |

For those who have ears and willing to hear will understand. For those who don't...I can't say anything more because they will never have ears. NO where did it say Christ laid in the tomb for 72 hours. It says he laid in the tomb 3 days...see above Hold on to your undies, it's gonna be a hell of a ride |

Yeshua held His last meal on Tuesday of that year ... . ... was on the cross on Wednesday ... buried Wednesday EVENING which is the BEGINNING of a Jewish day ... . ... If it's not 3days and 3nights then Yeshua is not the Messiah. The tradition of "Good Friday" to Sunday is from paganism. Dagon the Babylonian fish go was worshipped on Friday and Nimrod the sungod on Sunday. His prophecy did come true and can be proven quite easily from the Scriptures. [link to youtu.be] |

If he died before sundown that is Thursday, then Friday sun down to Saturday sun down is 2nd day, then Saturday sun down to Sunday sundown is the 3rd day. It does not mean 36 hours but the span of 3 days or it could be short like 26 hours and that covers 3 days. |
