If you live in a rural area, and you're on private land, I don't think anybody can do a damn thing if your 10-years-old and want to shoot your gun. If you're a city rat, somebody will call swat on you and snipers will be rapelling out of cop choppers hup, hup, hup! |

You can get hand guns but you need to go through tons of paperwork. It's probably worth it, though. I feel like a slave not having any weapons to fend of the government. I might just start living in a big vault underground, hoarding weapons i steal from military bunkers. |

Call the police if you are in need of help. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 10258870 Once your a victim of a violent crime, you'll be purchasing a hand gun the following day. Most have no clue the level of violence that is coming to this country as we continue our slide to 3rd world status. Here's your problem. By the time you figure out what's going on, it will be to late. The gun stores will all be closed to the public..... |
Anonymous astrophysicist User ID: 1234914 United States 03/31/2013 09:51 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | An adult has to buy the weapon , but even in the draconian state of New York, a 13 year old can get a hunting license and hunt unaccompanied by an adult if he takes a hunter/gun safety course and obtains a certificate of completion. When I was 12 and living in rural Upstate New York, I walked through my neighborhood frequently carrying a rifle to the nearby woods where I hunted, and when the state police did drive by , all they did was wave. I am afraid thing might have changed by now, that was 40 years ago. The ownership of firearms and the age which a gun can be 'assigned' as a child's weapon is an internal family decision, no one can legislate such things lawfully, though they do unlawfully. I OWNED a .22 caliber bolt action when I was 8 and a 30/30 lever action marlin when I was 11 along with a 16 gauge shotgun. They were MY rifles, kept in MY room , and on MY gun rack along with MY ammunition. I was taught and obeyed all of the rules of gun safety religiously, but had someone broken into my home while my parents were away they would have had to carry them away in plastic bag. Now they can take your children away from you if you allow them access to firearms. Children do not act responsibly because they are not given responsibility. |
Shadowdog User ID: 35582792 United States 03/31/2013 10:09 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | In my state Indiana 18 to purchase a long gun and 21 to buy a handgun if you go there a federal dealer which is a gun store. Same on ammo for each. If it is a private sale between 2 people 18 for long gun or handgun. You Can get your handgun permit to carry at 18. In Indiana you can carry concelled or in the open or your vehicle but you must have the permit. Without it it can only be in your house or on your property. A long gun can be carried any where without any problems. No permits, The siil thing is you turn 18 get your handgun permit but you can not go to the gun store and buy a handgun. You have to buy from a private seller or some one like your dad can give you one. Most police around here have no problem with us carrying pistols and wil even say they like the good guys being armed. Ibacked a local cop up years ago with my pistol. He was looking for some thug in the dark. I helped him look for the guy. We both had our .45s and maglites out. He still talks about it today when i bump into him. |
