CalmShock User ID: 5056346 Canada 03/31/2013 02:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hard to believe, but even way up here in Calgary we'd be in the danger zone. :yellowstone: Hopefully just a little belly rumble and not leading up to anything more serious... Scary thought with all the other volcanic activity kicking off globally. Patience is a virtue I just can't wait to achieve - CalmShock |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 26174012 United Kingdom 03/31/2013 02:18 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Now, this is interesting....It looks like there was another small jolt at 19:06 UTC but it finished almost the same time as it started...For some reason, it isn't being listed anywhere even though it looks over 1.5 mag. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26174012 You can see it in black at approx 19:06 with Madison River showing it the most: Madison River: [link to www.isthisthingon.org] All Seismographs: [link to www.isthisthingon.org] Looking at the other seismographs it suggests that it is indeed a small quake..If it was someone kicking the Seismo or a animal disturbing it, it wouldn't show up on other Seismographs like it has done. I'm betting another quake will show up soon for that one... I'm guessing they are delaying the EQ data going out straight away now after the earlier 3.2 mag... nice find... at least the seismos in the direct neighbourhood picked it up.. I like to think they wouldn't be censoring this data, but maybe we can catch anything by monitoring other seismos just in case...or would the censor those too. :/ I don't think they would censor it, more like delay the information and post it later.. The Isthisthingon site listed above is a better site to look at the Yellowstones seismographs as a whole. That site get their information from the Yellowstone Observatory and they of course have the seismos on there too. One thing I have noticed about the Isthisthingon site is the seismographs are slower in updating than Yellowstones observatory graphs... Here is the Yellowstones Observatory Seismographs, you have to click on each station to see the graph.. Quoting: CalmShock :yellowstone: Hopefully just a little belly rumble and not leading up to anything more serious... Scary thought with all the other volcanic activity kicking off globally. I think they said the bang from it erupting would be heard clearly from a radius of 2500 miles, then dissipate another 500 miles afterward. So if it went full force most north americans would hear it. |

phoenixe (OP) User ID: 37005976 Germany 03/31/2013 04:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It is a warning.. It should have some more shocks if it was normal.. Just one and it is under a super volcano. exactly what i was thinking. the "usual swarm" would be quite normal... but there is no swarm. |
