I think they are practicing the wave on this one. Some type of energy effects the brains of everyone in the area and they don't think. It is like lowering the brain level to that of a drunk only sober. This wave is being used everywhere but we just don't know it. And they say Americans are stupid.

That's all they are telling us here. Most of the information leaks out to friends and family via the employees before the call center gets it. Most of us here have at least one neighbor or knows someone inside of ANO. It's just a matter of sifting through the disinformation for the truth.

at first it was a non-doom-event, but it seems to be "developing" ...?

Not developing as much as being investigated. Whether it was equipment or human error will eventually come out. There is no steam coming from the tower so it did not go back online last night as expected.

I have seen pictures of the accident and it did not happen inside the containment. It happened in the turbine hall and made one hell of a mess. I'm sure it shook the entire plant and knocked the other unit off line. That is, put it into safe mode. RIP to the poor worker that was killed. No DOOM here.

I heard it will take an estimated 2 years to repair the damage. They said the floor was destroyed from the impact.

I just asked someone if they knew anything else. They stated that the reason we aren't seeing any smoke from the tower is because when the equipment fell the shockwave triggered a system shutdown. So as of right now the plant is in shut down mode which means its not producing electricity.

Also Dept of Health does air, soil samples each month. That's all I've been able to find out so far. Please feel free to correct me if anyone has heard differently.

Why is Minnesota always so high on the radiation network? Everytime I look it's above 50.

Fun Fact: The radiation network before fukushima used to trigger alerts at the I think 60 level and after fukushima raised it to 100

Is the plant still running on emergency back-up generators? If yes, then there must be damage to their power supply.

Wow, haven't heard about the accident in AK till just now. Oddly enough, here is a local story regarding TVA and the 7 nuclear plants that are messed up. I had posted in another thread that TVA had installed over a dozen new sirens in case of a nuclear emergency. There are 5 with in 10-12 mile radius from my house. They did this in less than one week and it wasn't front page news....

published Friday, March 29th, 2013
TVA cited for not testing nuclear parts

Federal regulators have cited TVA with three more apparent violations at Watts Bar Nuclear Plant — this time over thousands of parts the utility purchased that are not documented as nuclear-grade quality.

Tennessee Valley Authority officials and engineers then failed to maintain a quality assurance program to test and certify those parts as nuclear grade, according to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and TVA.

Now TVA must hire a contractor and pay for 30 or 40 experts to backtrack at least 6,200 shipments and purchases of different parts -- some already installed and some dating back to 1995.

What's more, the undocumented parts may not be installed or stored only at Watts Bar, but also at the Sequoyah and Browns Ferry nuclear plants. What began as a Watts Bar issue has been "escalated" to include all of TVA's seven reactors at three nuclear plants.
It was not clear Thursday, and TVA had no estimate, of how much it might cost to check all the parts, ensure their quality and replace any as necessary.

In 1995, the NRC recognized that nuclear operators were having increasing problems finding nuclear-grade parts as the industry's growth lulled in the United States after the 1979 Three Mile Island accident. So regulators enacted rules requiring that parts obtained from non-nuclear-certified vendors must receive special and strict industry testing to be performed and documented by the operators.

But TVA apparently missed the memo.
