Re: A letter I just left for my Ex. I AM FREE!!!
I'm FREE! I left this letter on the kitchen table. She gets back tonight but I will be gone. I feel so great.

dance

Anne,

I’m writing this letter to you in hopes that it will help clarify a few things that you’ve no doubt become aware of since you arrived home. The situation is exactly as it seems, I have left you. The plain truth is, I am no longer attracted to you. For the past few months I can safely say that I have felt physically ill in the morning when I wake up and see your face next to mine. Everything about you has become sour in my mind, even the way you smell. To be honest I find being around you draining, both physically and emotionally.

These issues are only surpassed by your negative and hateful attitude, which I might add has become progressively worse over the past year. You have become an egotistical, selfish and unimaginative person who rarely asks me what I need or want, in fact I cannot remember the last time you offered me anything of value. It baffles me that you show more passion for something like Dancing with the Stars or Idol than you do our relationship and our future. It stuns me that you cannot see how far you have fallen, how much dignity you have lost.

My limits have been reached and I have had enough. Your attempt to deprive me of my masculinity and sovereignty will no longer be tolerated. So this is where you find yourself, standing in the living room, stunned. Stunned because you never expected this, because you thought you owned me, you thought only you had the power to do something like this. The 46 inch flatscreen that you enjoy so much is no longer a prop for your moronic addiction. Go and buy your own. I have taken everything that I paid for (except the things which I bought for you). Keep the fridge (I’m getting a nice big one to reward myself for this amazing decision I have just made).

Finally I want you to look up the word Misandry as it’s something you are unequivocally guilty of. You should be glad that for the first time in your life someone has actually called you out on your bullshit. You can either lie to yourself as usual or you can pick up the proverbial mirror and take an honest look inside.

Good luck

D

You seem so proud of yourself! The fact that you posted that Letter on a public forum proves that you weak. So weak that you couldn't be a man and sit her down and express your feelings towards her without being hurtful and demeaning. Furthermore it's sad to see the responses supporting this low life behavior. Indeed it's a sign of the times when the love of many have grown cold. This is a sad day for you. ... the day that you have become nothing more then a pathetic excuse for a man.

None of us know the whole story and what really happened but the OP and his ex. So its stupid and a waste of time to make judgements on which side the blame lies. But I guess that wouldn't make for as fun a thread, right? (sigh) So let's all judge away and project our own issues onto something we know nothing about. Whoopee.

However, it must be said, if the OP didn't want his private life turned into bread and circuses he shouldn't have posted in the first place, right?

I'm FREE!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28183826

Won't be free for long, if you let a woman take this much advantage of you and if it's true, you'll be doing it again the next fake transient slut that comes your way. Why would you even be in a household with a woman that would live with a man she's obviously not married to?

Re: A letter I just left for my Ex. I AM FREE!!!
OP, I have no issue with you wanting to leave a woman who treated you so poorly. What I am concerned about is that you allowed this treatment to continue or so it seems.

I have no issue with you leaving her a letter and being gone when she comes home to make this a cleaner break. Women like her will never accept her loss of control over you....and that is the point (by the way, I am female). She could do anything when she realizes she has lost control. But again, OP, I want to ask why it went on for a period of time that was so long you had these feelings about her? No relationship should end this way. You should have left the first time you had that awful feeling when you saw her in the morning.

I sincerely suggest you do not start any new relationships. Seek whatever help you need to get your confidence back, do what is necessary to find yourself again and NEVER - EVER allow another human to treat you in this manner.

To all others that are bitch slapping women over this thread....this easily could have been a woman leaving a man with the very same circumstances. This woman clearly seems like a bitch but it doesn't mean we are all this way. I made the same mistakes as the OP. Didn't learn my lesson and fell for it a second time. When I saw it coming again, I stood up to the control but boy was it a reality check to see how easily the same patterns emerged....shows it must have been about me too.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 35757316

Thanks for your words. I acknowledge that I should have taken action sooner however the big changes in her personality have come fairly rapidly. She took a new job about 7 months ago and started to associate with people I can only describe as sociopaths. To me it's as simple as the "real her" came out, slowly at first and then like a tidal wave. You're right I was in denial for a while but I also made serious attempts to fix things. In the end it became apparent that it was always going to be about "her" and so I planned my escape, making sure I had an apartment to move into on the other side of town, etc.

My beef is not with women it's with this particular woman. That being said I am really sick and tired of this culture of feminism and misandry. It is poison. As for my confidence it just raked in a monster pot. Now to set up the new Man Cave.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28183826

Thanks for clearing that up and being honest. I like your style and glad you saw fit to make sure you had a suitable home before making your escape. I also appreciate your effort, but enough of that and glad you left.

OP even though I am female, as I said earlier, I have to agree with your words that I bolded above. I have a couple of friends that I avoid right now because of that very reason - guess I should say, I no longer associate with them. Any fellow female who doesn't follow their steps is given the same treatment as the men in their lives - one of them was my best friend. She can only spew venom and is capable of nothing else. Her husband and she have permanently split now and divorcing. I feel so bad for this guy....his wife changed from a kind, charming, yet formidable woman to a crazy vile creature that even I didn't recognize. I'm not getting what is going on, but I've seen this happen to two other more distant friends also. I don't get it, even as their fellow female and friend, I couldn't understand what was going on inside their heads, they just lost it....Seriously, they should give a name to this.

You made a good decision OP. Best of luck and enjoy your Man Cave.

Hey OP.
My girlfriend and i just broke up two days ago too. She was also a total misandrist? (not sure if thats a word). She hated men, and over the course of our two year relationship, i felt that i was slowly losing more and more respect, and having my masculinity stamped all over. We broke up face to face on saturday night. I must be honest, it was still really painful to experience, however i knew that i just couldnt continue living my life that way. I wasnt happy. I still tried to convince myself that i was happy, and that i could make it work, but i just had to throw a spanner in the works so to speak. It still hurts now though. Every morning i wake up to the reality, and its all a bit strange at the moment. Im glad youve posted this just now - it helps me look at my own relationship and know that there are plenty of dudes in similar situations. Good on you bro. I wish you everything that you desire and deserve from life. Peace!

One day I waited for my husband of 11 years to come home from work. It took everything in me to stand up to him and tell him to his face that I was done. Done with his lying, cheating, and abuse. He was stunned, then he cried. Then he started to pack and went to his mother's house and a year later we divorced.

He didn't think I could live life on my own. He wanted me to be dependent on him and stay home with the kids. He wanted all of the control over every aspect of my life.

The day I was free, I felt like I could do anything with my life. It's a good feeling, and I commend the OP for taking charge and doing this. Life is too short to live with someone that kills your spirit and does not really love you.

Nice letter but I would bet she will be relieved to see it.
Sounds like she had lost interest in you sometime ago and probably didnt know how to make the break.Maybe has a new guy.
Its a big job to move and can get expensive. This way she still has a place to live and can start over fairly easy or move her new man in when she gets one if she doesnt have one already..
Glad you will be happier but she most likely will be too.
Sounds as if you assume she cant survive without you.I bet she will

We are too much into "relationships" anyway, in my personal opinion. What about marriage and kids? If a woman doesn't want to get on with that, she's just wasting her own desirability, in looks and fertility. Of course after a while a man will move on.

There were apparently no kids involved. If there are no kids, then by all means break it off and find a situation you like, or no "situation" if you prefer. Enjoy the whole field!

I didn't mention marriage because even if they were married with no kids and she's not pregnant with his child, it's easily resolvable as he did.
