Interesting.
North Korea has drawn widespread condemnation after conducting a nuclear test in defiance of international bans. Pyongyang said its scientists had set off a “miniaturised” nuclear device. The test could bring North Korea a step closer to developing a nuclear warhead small enough to be mounted on a long-range missile. North Korea also has a fearsome collection of biological and chemical weapons. North Korean rockets have the potential to strike at most of its close neighbours and the potential to reach Europe, much of the U.S. and all of Australia.

I assume if they shot even 1 long ranger missle it would be destroyed in flight and NK would then be destroyed.

On a global scale SK ranks pretty high in military strength, but NK not so much. However, NK does have nukes.

Here is a totally different prospective:

Game of nuclear chicken

The United States and the two feuding Koreas could blunder into a real war unless both Pyongyang and Washington cease provoking one another.

We have grown jaded over the years by North Korea’s threats and chest-beating. But its recent successful nuclear test and work on a long-ranged missile have begun to add muscle to Pyongyang’s threats. No sooner was the new young North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un, in power than the US, South Korea and Japan began testing him.

Now might be a good time for Washington to ease rather than keep tightening sanctions on North Korea. Pyongyang’s real objectives are to gain a non-aggression treaty with the US and direct, normal relations. Washington won’t hear of this, though it deals with other repellant regimes. American neo-cons are determined to overthrow North Korea’s regime, fearing it will send advanced arms to Israel’s Mideast foes.

Military forces on the Korean Peninsula are on hair-trigger alert. Flying B-2’s near the North is almost daring it to attack.

Interesting article.. but I remembered that Taepodong 2 was their highest range long-range missile and I thought it's range was more like 5,000km? I also heard that there was this untested rumoured Taepodong 3 which could reach 8,000km. At the moment it seems to be only rumour that NK can send missiles as far as 5,000km let alone 15,000km...

The problem is. North Korea is strong if we have a global conflict.

Right now all the attention is going to North Korea itself, so they are weak. But if they dont start anything and for example Iran starts shit. And NK waits until Iran conflict is going on for somewhile then North Korea will move it's military.

Yeah, and that is why they will put it on a short range missile fired from a coastal freighter - or one simply assembled right there in the US.

why do you think everything is planned, arranged in conspiracy? Why do you think US defense can intercept everything? The new missiles shown on parade were unknown until then. They are thought to be better than Taepodong 2.

The more realistic diagrams of the North Korean missiles show USA within range (some still deny it on MSM). The new unnamed missile probably reaches Washington as well. One successful explosion of EMP somewhere above Denver and USA is knocked down returned to pre-industrial era. Even if retaliates with planes and submarines from bases outside continental USA. Who cares that NK will be hit back, most likely not Pyongyang but the nuclear facilities. Who cares really? USA and the rest of developed world will be busy to help American 300 mln population not to die of starvation and disease in the aftermath of the EMP.

Actually I believe that you will find that the current administrations policy is to absorb a first strike from such a source. They will then respond with a series of diplomatic moves to condemn the action while apologizing for our role in instigating the action.

In the end we will provide food, fuel and weapons to NK in an attempt to make them like us. Most likely we will give them most favored trade status and create a special status for NK immigrants.

have you all forgotten the magnolia tree?

it's all planned they're all in it together, our hysteria has been designed because we're all predictable. The tree cemented the deal. North Korea's going to take one for the team, thats what they do all those occultist's in power, a picnic under a tree by a river on a nice sunny day will make them ill. They thrive on sacrificing things to some demon god they adore and this time around NK's footing the bill.
