Message Subject Can't stomach History Channel's - BIBLE series

It's supposed to be the history channel, not the fairy tale channel. The whole thing was propaganda and asinine. The bible thumpers are so goddamn stupid they can't even read the book they supposedly worship and come to their own conclusions? They need the MSM to digest it and regurgitate it into a mini-series format with pretty pictures so they know what they are supposed to believe in? And isn't the companion book to 'The Bible' (the mini series) supposed to be THE BIBLE - not some novel??

I mean if you are going to believe in these fairy tales, fine, but if you want the rest of the world to take your ludicrous beliefs seriously you don't turn them into prime time television and have christian mingle and pat robertson buy ad time. WTF??

Interesting.

I have read the Bible and believe in the God of said book, but I did not watch the Show in question.

You do not believe in that God, but did watch the show.

Perhaps the show was made for the likes of YOU?

What fairy tale version of reality do YOU believe in?
 Quoting: IAMIAM

I watched the show under duress, trust me.

And I don't believe in any reality enough to worship it, trust me. My reality evolves as new facts become available. And I readily accept the fact that I don't have all the answers - but neither do you :)

Duress you say?

Did someone tie you to a chair and clamp your eyelids open?

Are you in the "Pen" and it was the only thing on for social hour?

What circumstance made you so obligated to watch something that caused such distress?
 Quoting: IAMIAM

Nope - even worse - family function surrounded by pushers. Couldn't opt out. Social obligations on a religitard holiday - sometimes its much more prudent to go with the flow than to cause a big scene.

And did I ever say I was distressed?

I didn't even imply distress.

Indeed, I simply commented as to the blatantly obscene display of paid religious advertisers (during the commercial breaks of a program in which your Jesus vocalized his contempt of the abuses of the wealthy no less) over the course of a mini-series used to dumb down what xians claim to believe is the holy word of their god.

Seemed a little blasphemous, even to a heathen like myself.

Not to mention that your Jesus was portrayed as quite the fool and the history channel is making a killing off of a show that is not historical or even informative but rather the dramatization of certain people's religious beliefs - beliefs that will almost certainly be classified as mythology in the not so distant future just like the religious beliefs that came before...
