The Scientist User ID: 23788152 United Kingdom 04/01/2013 01:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | China has placed military forces on heightened alert in the northeastern part of the country as tensions mount on the Korean peninsula following recent threats by Pyongyang to attack, U.S. officials said. Quoting: General Wang Chung 1140635 [link to www.foxnews.com] This link is far more informative, its where fox got their story from.. [link to freebeacon.com] ...PLA heavy armored vehicles, including tanks and armored personnel carriers, were reported moving near the Yalu River that separates China from North Korea. The troops were part of the 190th Mechanized Infantry Brigade, stationed in Benxi, in Liaoning Province. The movements are believed to be related to increased tensions in Korea. Additionally, PLA troops and military vehicles were seen near Baishan, in Jilin province, around March 21. Low-flying PLA air force jets, believed to be fighters, also were heard and seen at several border locations in China, including Yanji and Yanbian in Jilin, Kuancheng, in Hebei province, and Dandong, in Liaoning province. Chinese forces along the border responded to some unknown event in North Korea near Siniju on March 21 that involved Chinese fighter jets flying over the area. The officials said the Chinese military activities appear to be based on concerns about a new outbreak of conflict between North Korea and South Korea and the United States. China’s military maintains a long-standing defense treaty with the North that obligates China to defend North Korea in the event it is attacked. The last time Chinese forces backed Pyongyang was during the Korean War when tens of thousands of Chinese “volunteers” drove south into the peninsula. Chinese military spokesmen frequently refer to their relations with the Korean People’s Army, as the North Korean military is called, as ties “as close as lips and teeth.” |

Seoul and Washington have elevated their defense readiness against Pyongyang to "DEFCON" and treat the situation as one of war. <snip> "It is essential for South Korea to get assistance from allied forces including U.S. Forces in Korea," said another source. “For this to happen, the DEFCON level should be elevated from 4 to 3." <snip> The two allies mostly did not raise DEFCON in the past even if the North launched a surprise artillery attack, considering it a "local provocation." ----------- THEATER WIDE WAR IS ON THE WAY!!!!!!!!!! |

Just tell them to "come and collect". Or,...start a regional war and wipe them off the planet. Debt = Gone. But, at what cost? Quoting: salty1 Maybe this is why the Administration is ratcheting up the tension for War. Knows the debt isn't sustainable even for the 3 years Obama has remaining. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 4734824 Canada 04/01/2013 01:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You guys don't realize how bad the first Korean war was. It was worse then any war we have ever seen. Korea was Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan all rolled into one. In 1000 days more then a million people were killed. And many atomic bombs were dropped near Korea too show our determination too win. 400 Canadian soldiers fought off 4000 Chinese in one battle. Thats how intense it was. At hamburger hill the Americans posted a sign saying "Abandon all hope those who enter" Not a single light could be seen from North Korea at night after dropping 800 tons of bombs on them daily. This will go WW3 if it goes down. Look up the "Official" casualty report. [link to en.wikipedia.org] |
