Except for the fact that it's 2013, friend. Part of our current 'projected' might consists of stealth technology that was developed over 30 years ago... one example of many. Technological advancements in the last 10 years alone render troop count far less significant than in previous large-scale wars. A battlefield or sizable EMP could leave a vast group of enemy troops without out orders.
Of course the, "you must have troops to occupy and win a war" rule stands. But with the technology that is available today, and looking back at what we knew and kept secret many decades ago, it's hard to think we don't have a counter to massive enemy troop numbers.
