It would be seen coming and shot down or intercepted right.
Quoting: Astral Goat Goat, do you remember that asteroid which exploded over Russia about a month ago? All the college boys with their fancy-schmancy telescopes and computer programs didn't see it coming. And an EMP is detonated about 350 miles up. So figure something about the size of the Russian asteroid, 350 MILES up in space. Seems to me that the odds would not favor our ability to "see" it.
