I wonder if this is all set up to hide the fact.....the Sun will knock out our power grid.


Government loves to be in control, people need a government in control (though many disagree, w/e).

People will not trust the government to rule them if something above them presents itself (power loss from Sun).

Instead, if the people felt it was a man-made problem, then the illusion of government remaining in control is the result.
