Because you are in the USA. The vast majority of religious people here in the USA are Christians.
I'm an atheist (born and raised Christian), and I have nothing against religion. I do have a problem when it's forced onto others. I would fight for you're freedom and right to worship as you please, but please return that sentiment by respecting the rights of all citizens of this country to allow them to practice religions other than Christianity...or no religion at all if they choose...by keeping religion out of government.
It pains me that so many zealots misquote and outright lie about the founding fathers and established science in order to convey the message of Christ or creationism.
What's even worse, is some of these "lovers of Christ" who sanction bullying. How disgraceful! I have to wonder where these people were when in church the lessons about "turn the other cheek", "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" and "whatsoever ye do to the least of my brethren so ye have done unto me" were given. Bad enough to breach these teachings towards another adult...but a CHILD?? What lousy witnesses for Christ.
I know all Christians aren't so nasty (I know many that aren't), but I have to wonder what this religion is coming to when I hear all the lies, deceit and intolerance by these so called religious zealots.
