Any celibates?
Who think sex only for pro-creation? And do you feel like part of waking up is overcoming sex addiction? Don't be afraid to speak up. Anyone? ANy Women (celibate)? (I think celibate would mean not masturbating either)

I am celibate since my divorce ten years ago.

Its just not worth the hassle OR the herps.

Its also cheaper and far less stressful.

Sex is only good with someone you are committed to anyway.

Sex for sex sake is just an expensive and hassle/risk filled way or masturbating.

I have met a few people who were celibate for awhile and heard of and they had extreme vitality extraordinary energy. sleep needs go down, but then, you have to give it up. in a perfect world though, it might be fun to feel like youre alowed to have 2-3 months of energy without sex

Re: Any celibates?
Yes

My household consists of two celibates.
Both are males one 26 YOA the other is 24.

They have no intention of ever changing this.

I have no intention of encouraging them to.

They are better off this way.

And they know it or they would have already went the other way.

They will not live long enough to bother with marriage or children.

They just do not care.

You can end duality right now - choose to balance instead of favoring either one side or the other. when we walk we dont favor any "sides" and ignore them all...and stand upright and take our own side..we make a stand.

To end duality is to understand the pairs of opposites which creates our world and just simple balance in it.

and yes, celibate. and new energy has something to do with it - I feel it, prolly going away yes I tihnk.

and yea I think it has to do with some new ability to see "both sides as part of the whole" instead of looking to embrace one side or the other and never leaver learning to fly...

Re: Any celibates?
The world we exist in today can not accept that humans just do not have sex by self choice.

It is not acceptable to this world as normal.

Yet it very much has become a way of life for many males mainly.

They never have had sex or sexual relations, not even dating even from their youngest puberty stage.

After they pass so many years, say 12 years or more they have sunk in deeply to their way of life..

And they have never know it any other way neither do they desire to change it.

I think this came by observing all the losses, costs and epic failures of others.

The betrayal and scamming of mates probably drove the last nail in their sex coffins.

They say they do not like their world nor the way of life lived in it.

I think it is a rejection of continuation in it and it is the cultural age at present.

Maybe in another 20 years or so when this one disintegrates into its own chaos.

They will have a change of mind heart and soul.

But I just do not think so.

They will instead continue to remain independent of any other human being.

Other than their closest friends which are also males.

They say they do not want to be like humans their age or the older ones and darn sure not the younger ones.

This is an age fit for exiting.

Expensive, time consuming, messy, and could be life threatening.

Not worth the effort.

Have a wank once a week, and watch a doco, instead of going out and getting laid. You get all you want, and more.

I'm celibates! But, I'm not a christian, so I don't look at sex as evil, or anything..

Just haven't been able to find anyone that peaks my interest enough now that I'm well on my journey of awakening..

Agree.Been celibate for the last 7 years and you adjust to it much more easily than I assumed one could.Never have cared for sex just to have sex.Love it with a person I love though. But as you said its not really worth the hassle anymore.

Re: Any celibates?
I found that once I was deeply in love, making love with my spouse was almost like a prayer said by both of us at the same time with our bodies as well as our minds. The possibility of creating a new life during that prayer lifted it to an all together higher plane of existence. The tenderness, the touching, the sensation of both touching her body and feeling the touch within my own body at the same time - and knowing she was experiencing the same thing - to call it amazing is a gross understatement.

I've been with others since. Nothing else has ever come close. Finally decided it was too much hassle and build up only to hit that immense disappointment again. . . all the while trying to tell your partner of the moment that it was great - when you knew you were lying to yourself and to them. If you are lucky, you wind up with someone you love and you can make love with them for the rest of your days. When your bodies no longer allow you that luxury, you still have the shared memories and the love that has only grown over the decades of your life together. In the end of life, even holding the hand of one you've loved is once again like making love - this time even with a new tenderness and depth of love as you, with your touch, remind them that they were truly loved here and will be love where they are heading for as well.

Our loving creator made this wonderful union between man and woman possible. Most of us fail to ever find it at all. Then some of those who do find it are too young and too ego-centric at the time to realize what they have and they let it slip away (as I did.)

I decided years ago that I would rather have the precious memories of loving the way it was supposed to be - in that prayerful state where your bodies not only touch each other but when your minds also touch the hand of GOD - than some empty memories of a sad and pathetic imitation of a tryst with someone you do not love, and recall of an act together that couldn't even come close in their intensity or in the love that we felt / exchanged during the "real thing".

Once, when we were done making love for a while, and we'd been holding each other a few hours as the sound of the waves pounding on the surf and the setting sun made the room cool enough that I had to get up and turn the heat on - I knew in that instant that there were no longer two people in that room, but three. I knew that my daughter had been conceived. We were in Laguna Beach CA when it happened. I asked my wife if she felt something 'different" and she said yes, she did. We talked about it and laughed a bit. Then we got dressed and had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants there that night. We flew home a few days later and my wife made an appointment with her OB/GYN. Sure enough. She was pregnant. Even though she was almost forty and I was 37, we were going to have a baby. That was 27 years ago and I remember it like it was yesterday. Nine months later, we named out daughter JOY because she was conceived in such love and in such incredible joy.

The world calls it celibacy. I don't think of it as a loss at all. I think of it as choosing to hold close something that is so precious that it probably only comes along once in a lifetime - and I was lucky enough to have had that for a while. Anything else would somehow cheapen the memories real love and of truly making love. I think of it as just using my energies where they are doing some good in this world and not destroying my memories of those precious days and nights together.

it seems to be common theme ...

the list isn't finished so if anyone has any more .... please let me know

I'm kinda celibate, my husband only screws me a few seconds a week and I don't go asking for it, he just forces himself on me. But I like it when a man is in control, he's the only one that has ever been able to subdue me and that's a rare quality to be found in men these days.
