"The world will soon wake up to the reality that everyone is broke and can collect nothing from the bankrupt, who are owed unlimited amounts by the insolvent, who are attempting to make late payments on a bank holiday in the wrong country, with an unacceptable currency, against defaulted collateral, of which nobody is sure who holds title." Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity. The woman who is not pursued sets up the doctrine that pursuit is offensive to her sex, and wants to make it a felony. No genuinely attractive woman has any such desire. - H.L. Mencken, In Defense Of Women |

For the past 10+ years.. some times the sun seems brighter when its hazy Some days it seems darker. Honestly the only noticeable change i see is when the weather affects it. Ie. haze, clouds, moisture in air, or simply direction change. I cant remember my optometrist ever recommending staring at the sun to compare its brightness . That would be the equivalent of an idiot high beaming himself to test the brightness of his new flashlight. Just dont bring that logic to a shooting range... |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 12862835 Philippines 04/09/2013 05:47 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It is a subtle change that is very gradual. Not everyone is sensitive to it. They use high frequencies to annoy teens and keep them from congregating in certain places: [link to en.wikipedia.org] Most people over 25 cannot hear it, as the hearing for humans as a whole drops off with age. Ageing asside, this effect demonstrates how that some can be sensitive to a phenomenon while others are not. All of the senses are similar. The change in the sun is gradual and this is the reason why only certain sensitive people are picking up on it. |

I hate to tell you, but the sun doesnt cool down at night ;) I too have noticed the "Change" in the colouration of the Sun - It was more "Yellow" from my childhood momories. However I would argue its not a change in the sun - If it did change that much I figure we'd all look like krispy bacon now |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 37662041 Australia 04/09/2013 06:24 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | To all the sun is white tards Normal yellow stars like the Sun seem to make much fewer X-rays. Even some cool stars make more X-rays than the Sun. New theories are being developed to account for this discovery. The space observations indicate that the speed of a star's rotation may play a more important role than its temperature in determining its X-ray luminosity, and indeed the Sun is a slowly rotating star. Faster-turning stars seem to outshine slower ones of the same type in X-rays. From Nasa, bottom of page [link to history.nasa.gov] |

With a declination +19.5°, it only reaches an altitude of about 30° as seen from New Zealand. The star is cooler and a little more ######yellow##### than the Sun. Its diameter is about 25 times that of the Sun, but its mass is only about 4 times that of the Sun, giving it a very low density, about 0.0003 the Sun's density. [link to rasnz.org.nz] |
