I'm not sure whether people follow Mother Shipton for fun or, like me, you hope one day to be proved wrong, but every time I read an article about this I can't help but remember a certain prediction she made in regards to current times.

The signs will be there for all to read;
When man shall do most heinous deed Man will ruin kinder lives;
By taking them as to their wives.
And murder foul and brutal deed:
When man will only think of greed.
And man shall walk as if asleep;
He does not look - he may not peep And iron men the tail shall do;
And iron cart and carriage too.

The king shall false promise make;
And talk just for talking's sake.
And nations plan horrific war;
The like as never seen before.
And taxes rise and lively down;
And nations wear perpetual frown.

Yet greater sign there be to see;
As man nears latter century.
Three sleeping mountains gather breath, And spew out mud, ice and death. An earthquake swallow town and town;
In lands as yet to me unknown. And Christian one fights Christian two And nations sigh, yet nothing do. And yellow men great power gain;
From a mighty bear with whom they’ve lain.

These mighty tyrants will fail to do, They fail to split the world in two. But from their acts a danger bred;
An ague, leaving many dead.

And physics find no remedy;
For this is worse than leprosy.
Oh many signs for all to see;
The truth of this true prophecy.

This thread is quickly turning into the MERS CoV thread, especially snce China is not releasing any new info on H7N9.

More MERS-CoV deaths reported as clusters are profiled

May 29, 2013 (CIDRAP News) – Another Saudi Arabian has been infected with the Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV), while six others whose illnesses were previously announced have died, Saudi Arabian authorities and the World Health Organization announced today.

The latest reports raise the unofficial MERS-CoV tally to 50 cases with 30 deaths, for a case-fatality rate of 60%.

Hey Wash,
It does seem that way, but I for one am not taking my eye off H7N9 yet.
I have a feeling it may come back around and bite us in the ass.

Problem is, if China is not giving out info (remember SARS in China?) it'll be hard to contain when it mutates to the point of easy H2H spreading. I'm still watching H7N9 also Vic.

Description
Saudi Arabia has reported that three more people have died from a new respiratory virus related to SARS, bringing the total number of deaths globally to 30. The Ministry of Health said Thursday the three deceased, ranging in age from 24 to 60, had chronic diseases, including kidney failure. It says they were hospitalized a month ago. The Ministry also announced a new case of the respiratory virus called MERS, bringing to 38 the number of those infected in the kingdom. It identified the afflicted person only as a 61-year-old from the Al-Ahsa region where the outbreak in a health care facility started in April. The World Health Organization said the new germ, a respiratory infection, was first seen in the Middle East and sickened more than 49 people worldwide.

China Terminates H7N9 Emergency Response

[link to afludiary.blogspot.ca]

From link:
Only one new case has been reported in recent weeks (see  Beijing Reports 2nd H7N9 Case), a dramatic drop in cases which has been attributed to the closing of live markets and the return of warmer weather.

Few experts believe the virus has gone for good, however, and many have deep concerns it will return once live markets are reopened, or when cooler temperatures return in the fall.

Yola — At least five people have been confirmed dead, while 70 others are lying critically ill at the hospital following an outbreak of a yet to be diagnosed ailment. It was gathered that over 200 households in the border area of Mubi-South in Adamawa State have been affected.
