Go back and read the link that CrazyMama was referring to. It explained in exquisite detail how horrible this virus is. It is not outrageous at this point to begin to put some thought into how we will each handle a pandemic. Being informed, imho, is the best way to avoid panic.

This flu is NOT seasonal- this is a flu new to humans- don't even think of this virus as a "flu" it is much, much worse.

Spider is correct. When news of H7N9 first came out, the specter of efficient human to human transmission was a lot farther away than it is today. More family connected cases, gene mutations that bring it closer to h2h every day, cases in more widespread areas. The big 'IF' is rapidly becoming a 'when'. Humans have no natural immunity to this, if it goes hot the only way to avoid it will be to bug-in for months.

the mammalian change has already taken place , and there have been reported family clusters , as well as patients who have had no direct contact with birds , contracting h7n9 its clear that present testing is not 100%
accurate ......then consider the incubation period up to 10 days in some people , the asymptomatic cases ......the truth is here not sure if this is human to human transmission .
It is limited granted ...but already transmitting between people ....
Perhaps one or two then the virus dies , would explain the slow build up rate ,

I believe that for reasons of finance , current world depression they will try to delay announcig a pandemic for as long as possible .
They can not say theres no problem but they manipulate numbers to try calm fears and business , might be good to which money moving out of china markets ....

That's the norm, and until there's something they can point to as a panacea, you can bet the lid will stay on this. They were pretty open, sending out gene sequences and information until they discovered that the anti-virals don't work. Whoops. Lid back on.
