Re: The Eye of Providence
A symbol is something that represents an idea, a process, or a physical entity. The purpose of a symbol is to communicate meaning. For example, a red octagon may be a symbol for "STOP". On a map, a picture of a tent might represent a campsite. Numerals are symbols for numbers. Personal names are symbols representing individuals. A red rose symbolizes love and compassion.

..."a symbol, like everything else, shows a double aspect. We must distinguish, therefore between the 'sense' and the 'meaning' of the symbol. It seems to me perfectly clear that all the great and little symbolical systems of the past functioned simultaneously on three levels: the corporeal of waking consciousness, the spiritual of dream, and the ineffable of the absolutely unknowable. The term 'meaning' can refer only to the first two but these, today, are in the charge of science – which is the province as we have said, not of symbols but of signs. The ineffable, the absolutely unknowable, can be only sensed. It is the province of art which is not 'expression' merely, or even primarily, but a quest for, and formulation of, experience evoking, energy-waking images: yielding what Sir Herbert Read has aptly termed a 'sensuous apprehension of being'.[3]

Fomalhaut Star:

George Washington referred to the Great Architect of the Universe as "Providence"

Marvel that his natal 2-3 degree Pisces Sun directly conjuncts this Eye of Providence in space,
Royal Star, Fomalhaut, called Gabriel, "Watcher of the South" and "Eye and Mouth of the Fish."

Fomalhaut is the only one of four royal star that is never blocked from earth's view by the moon.
Thus, Fomalhaut is truly an accurate metaphor for the non blinking, All Seeing Eye of Providence.

And much like The Nobody, Fomalhaut is the least recognized of the royal stars preferring to shine
his great light from the dark, less populous Southeast region of space!

Since when did challenging a paradigm equate to being ignorant?

Something you said also doesn't make sense:
If our third eye behaves as a plasmoid, then it is linked to the consciousness that is way, way beyond words. Hence the need for symbols, visions, etc that the third eye uses for communication with our brains and bodies residing in the material.
 Quoting: Septenary Man

If words are symbols, why can't the third eye use them for communication?

You say that symbols are needed where words do not suffice, and then criticize me as not knowing what a symbol is because I differentiate language and symbols?

I didn't say you were ignorant. If you were challenging the definition of symbols, then you should have posited that in your initial reply. How was I supposed to know you were trying to change the paradigm of symbols?

Something you said also doesn't make sense:
If our third eye behaves as a plasmoid, then it is linked to the consciousness that is way, way beyond words. Hence the need for symbols, visions, etc that the third eye uses for communication with our brains and bodies residing in the material.
 Quoting: Septenary Man

If words are symbols, why can't the third eye use them for communication?
Because words are limited. Symbols have the 'ability' to contain vastly more information than just 'words'. Again, parables come to mind. But, I am not saying that words cannot be used either, as they are a part of symbols.

You say that symbols are needed where words do not suffice, and then criticize me as not knowing what a symbol is because I differentiate language and symbols?
I didn't 'criticize' you, I was just showing you where our perception of symbols was different.
...
Quoting: Demon Cat in the Blue Basket

Sorry, but your differentiation didn't make sense to me. That is why I posted the wiki link. I didn't say you were ignorant at all. I just thought you used the definition of symbols inaccurately, as you suggested linguistics and symbols were two entirely different things. So, I posted the wiki link to show you what my perception of symbols is. Why would you want to challenge the paradigm of 'symbols'?

Re: The Eye of Providence
It´s about symbolism and how nature is definied through it.
The energetical structure is looking for a way to shape itself into the outside (material) world, so to speak..

In every kind of way.
When we talk about Kundalini for example it´s just another example of how energy manifests into the physical realms, or rather in this case how it finds a way to and through your body and your whole electro-magnetic system.

I´ve made another thread some time ago, to talk about the principle of evolution. The main thing is, that you life itself shows its pattern in everything around you and inside of yourself.

quote:

What is a dragon? The oldest dragons and dragonsymbolism comes from the chinese traditions. You can see their bodies are actually the body of a snake, only that they can fly. They got wings of some kind. The wings are related to air and so to the mental. It´s a mental and spiritual uplift. The snake represents the lifeforce of every beeing, some may call it chi, other call it Kundalini. It´s the same. What happens here is, that the snake becomes a serpent with feathers. The snake came from the sea, it conquered the soil and then it grew wings. Birds are the offspring of reptiles and snakes are the archetype of reptiles. You see, it´s the story of life itself. The snake/ the lifeforce that be, conquer the 4 elements in an alchemistic way. Out of the water, onto the land and finally lifted up into the sky because of the fire within, the will to prevail. You can even read it off the 7 chakras, as the rootchakra represents the snake and the crownchakra represents the eagle. The union of both is a snake with wings, the serpent of light... it is the story of human ascension into the heavens. The spiritual world and the full potential and magic of the spirit.
 Quoting: Iolair
