Most websites I found placed big doubts about the authenticity of this missile and whether it truly is a ICBM. The best argument i found was: Quoting: S7 1006073 "If real, the KN-08 could be quickly launched from anywhere, easily carrying a heavier satellite into Low Earth Orbit (LEO) than the Unha-2/-3. Therefore, the question arises why the North Koreans would spend so much effort on the Taepodong 2/Unha program, using outdated technology, when they already have a far superior rocket up their sleeves" Source: [link to lewis.armscontrolwonk.com] So am I missing something? Or is there really a ICBM? If so can someone post sone good info about it? They might. They might not. We won't know until they launch it. (that was a clue) |

This type of fuel source limits the range. So North Korea started to develop the Hwasong-13 which is the NATO designated KN-08, because it is a Hybrid Solid Fueled Missile with more range based upon Russian Technology. They have have created an entire family of Solid Fueled missiles with progressively larger missiles for better range. The Hwasong-14 is currently under development and also Hwasong-15, Hwasong-16 and Hwasong-17 ICBMs All Solid Fueled which is a Step up from Liquid propellents. |

They've only had one succesful launch so far, which was in January, how much can they have progressed from there? can't be that much can it? Well I guess I'm not very impressed or scared yet. |

DidlerMajor User ID: 31953397 Canada 04/03/2013 12:53 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I don't think the question should be can they launch a rocket like the ICBM. I think the question is if can they attach a weapon on to one of their space capable rockets. I don't even think people need to worry about their rockets. I've been saying since October last year that shit is going down, and I highly doubt that NK will be the ones to fire first. The US government has already moved a fair share of their equipment to conduct a very high tech, low casualty operation, in to the pacific. They've got that radar ship/rig thing, a few other NAVY ships of the destroying type, no doubt some subs, plus they have ground troops in SK. Not to mention the air force equipment that had Kimmey spitting his rice noodles a few weeks ago. You don't spend that money and move all that stuff there for nothing, or do you? Even if they did manage to launch a weapon in to space, or across the Arctic towards USA...CONSPIRACY ALERT...the weapons on the ISS and the weapons in orbit over the planet would definitely shoot it down. Or would they? I for one look forward to the DOOM to come. Let's just keep the casualties down, eh? |

Or is there really a ICBM? If so can someone post sone good info about it? Inter Continental Ballastic Missle. The rub is in "Continental". Palin, "I can see Russia from here"... A V-2 rocket of mid WWII if fired from that extreme west side of Alaska over the Bering Strait and into Russia would be an inter-continential ballastic missle.. just saying.. all though in another classification it might not even qualify as a Intermediat Ranged Ballistic Missle (an IRBM).. Any nation that can put a 100 pound payload into Low Earth Orbit, will already have the classic IBCM available to them. In that light, Japan for instance has ICBMs so does the ESA. IN that sence India also has ICBMs, Iran has ICBMs, Israel has ICBMs.. Brazil has ICBMs.. The World-Wide MSM (WW-MSM) has in fact severely dumbed down not only Americans but the masses of man kind. China is getting ready for a Fall Three "Manned" orbital trip to their growing Space Station. There are only two nations at the moment with the capability to put men and women into orbit. the Two "Former Communist" Nations of Russia and China. Go figure. Its all about the target precisions.. and you can be a mile or two off if your warhead is a Two Megaton Hydrogen Bomb. Even even ten miles off if the warhead yeild 20MT.. The Missle Gap that started the Space Race was because the USSR had launch a small satellite into orbit. The Website Space Daily, might be a good place to start answering some of your questions. |
