The $100 million in government funds being spent on the program will be included in Obama's fiscal year 2014 budget to be released April 10. The funding breakdown includes: $40 million from the National Institutes of Health (NIH); $50 million from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), which is part of the Department of Defense; and $20 million from the National Science Foundation.
Support will also be provided by private sector foundations.
During his unveiling Tuesday at the White House, the president championed the program's medical benefits, but also promoted the initiative as an economic effort.
"Every dollar we spent to map the human genome has returned $140 to our economy," Obama said.

Why do I have a bad feeling about this... seems like a code word for a super intelligent computer.

This sort of idea was in one of Tom Cruise's Mission Impossible movies. The entire theme of the movie was pre-crime prevention. Ever notice how the stuff in those movies comes to pass publicly? Duh.

They are using electrical stimulation on Early stage alzheimers and have been using it for Parkinson's for over a decade. ( maybe longer for elites/celebrity cases) Brain mapping started in the 90's, I have a child who has Grand Mal Seizures, his Pediatric Neurologist was excited about the project and the implications for people with Neurological disease. This is not about understanding the brain any better, or "figuring it out". They know all about it, it is not about re-stimulating dead parts of the brain it's being done at this moment with human volunteers who have early AD.

This is most likely about something more sinister either on the general populace or for military use.

I think they know how to "fix" Alzheimers, but are using the fear of this disease to fund this program. If they are using deep brain stimulation in it's early stages( and it is looking promising) It is a literal carrot on a stick. Obama has stated he wants an answer/treatment in ten years. I am willing to lay my prized closet shotgun on the line, that this will occur. Not because he has the best and the brightest funded with this bill.. but b/c we already know the answer.

If you wish to challenge me, I am a proponent of anything that will help eradicate this disease. I am about as educated about it as a person who has a high school education can be.

Yes. The brain, a terrible thing to waste. They have all kinds of stuff that we are unaware of. I don't remember (no pun) that Alz. disease or anything like it when I was growing up - no older relatives having symptoms like that. What's up with that? Yep, I think I know.

Bump every one of those biologists/scientists that do the disease invention for those demon NWO individuals (notice I did not refer to them as people). BTW, they kill those scientists after they use them you know. Look it up - dead scientists/biologists, etc. They are legion.

I HATE that disease. I am currently caring for a relative who has that. There are pills that immediately change their mood - strikingly. I gave my relative a pill the dr. prescribed for daytime and she acted, for lack of a better word, like someone who had taken, umm, cocaine or something. Didn't continue that. Just couldn't do it.

Anyway, this mind stuff - yeah no thanks. Doesn't the amount of money spent tell everyone where their priorities are = mind control of the masses. I have a sound mind today, having been clean and sober for a number of years so they can have their mind/brain control plan. It ain't gonna work - on me and many many others. BTW, I think Sheen, Lohan, B. Spears, et al. unfortunately, already got theirs.
