nutmeg User ID: 35189740 United States 04/02/2013 05:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | No excuse. I volunteer for the USO and I have met guys who have served 4-5 tours. No one acts like this. What a jerk. Just remember, no one has been forced to join the military. There is no draft! Quoting: nutmeg I also am a military wife and have associated with the military over 35 years. I have never seen this type of behavior. That guy is young. If you ask me, he was a nutcase before he joined the marines! OK perhaps I exaggerated a tad in all honesty. In reality though a lot of Marines are capable of this kind of behavior. I remember when I had just got out of boot camp and was in Dam Neck Virginia there was a Marine on the city bus saying "I just want to fight someone" a bunch of times while his buddy told him to calm down lol. I also remember the day that I reported to that school there was a Navy guy that had been beat by like 6 Marines bleeding from the head all over the place talking to cops in the barracks. In the USO yes they will probably be nice most of the time, but go out drinking with them and see how nice they are then. Don't underestimate how crazy a Marine can be if you value your safety, since they are trained killers after all. You can't argue this point (especially with someone like me) so don't even bother trying. "Don't underestimate how crazy a Marine can be if you value your safety, since they are trained killers after all. You can't argue this point (especially with someone like me) so don't even bother trying." I don't really care if you're a "trained killer" or not! Anyone who is sane knows the difference between confronting the ENEMY with violence and confronting another driver on the road. The guy is a mentally ill punk who thinks he's a badass. Guaranteed he was a bully in school and has low self esteem! Last Edited by nutmeg on 04/02/2013 05:57 PM |

I'd have made his head a canoe. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 37322347 It's wise to be careful when dealing with Marines since many of them have really extensive hand to hand combat training. I don't know who you are and what you are capable of, but most marines would tie the average guy up into a pretzel. In fact as a general rule its wise to be careful when dealing with anyone. A guy may look small or weak, but he could be so bad ass you wouldn't even see it coming. Some of the Akido masters are quite old and small, and they can still deal with like 8 pretty bad ass guys at the same time none the less. I would admit that the Marine in that video was pushing it though, and I was asking myself what I would have done in that situation. Probably the same thing in all honesty, because I think fighting over something like that is just beyond stupid. I have had people come up to me in the street for literally no reason and say things like "you got a problem" and I just started laughing at them and maybe say "no, I'm good" then walked away. Usually that will diffuse it, since you aren't escalating the situation. |

Akido isn't a joke by the way, and I bet one of the masters would probably wipe the floor with you. Boxing is my background. Aikido is judo + mystical bullshit for old men. if you really think you can gain wrist control and implement wrist locks in a real physical confrontation then you are sorely mistaken. MCMAP (and every other military combat system) is a joke and not realistic self-defense system for people in the armed services (which should be apparent by the fact that they don't train in full gear). They teach some basic grappling and striking but it's so basic and watered down and so rigid in its application that anyone with even a marginal martial arts or combat sports background could take them on fairly easily. |
video recorder User ID: 35054763 United States 04/02/2013 06:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ok so I'm going to put it out there. My little brother is the driver. I'm the Marine in a wheelchair recording this. This guy first tried to speed up and cus off when he was in a small merge lane, then realized the truck was bigger than his car. He slammed on his brakes. We didn't know what he was doing until it happened. Then he came around the vehicle and decided to cut us off not nearly even as a car length away. So close to my truck that he almost hit us. Then gets in front of us WMSH starts to break check us where we couldn't even see his trunk. My brother backed off and kept trying to get distance. The 3 rapid brake checks and then finally he locks up his brakes. We tried to move. If was less than 10mph and the guy locks up his brakes and at this point his car I could see in his backseat and when locked up we hit him. This was so quick there wasn't anything we could do. This guy gets out of his car and starting screaming at us, I try to talk to him and that's when he said he was going to beat my brother and started kicking my truck which then my brother rolls up the window. Then I start to record because now he's vandalizing my truck and I can't get out to talk or calm him down because I can't walk. This is the result of it. Luckily two witnesses who witnessed all of it stopped and made statements. He is being held at fault by MP and investigator. How this video got vitally out I'm unsure but I as a Marine I understand PTSD and I understand things happen. But atleast maybe he can get some counseling or talk to someone. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 22088909 United States 04/02/2013 06:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | PTSD, stress will do this to you. Stress before deployment, stress after deployment. Fear of losing life and family. Fear of losing everything. Watching your battle buddies die in front of you in a horrific combat fight, fear, stress anger, building up until you just blow up and release the pressure. Releasing the pressure... That's all you see here. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 37101557 No one knows this Marines pain except the Marines he serves with, they know. The civilians will never understand this unless they've been to hell. We are all like the quiet guy in the car, safe, silent and still... not knowing the pains of war. That's cause we aren't stupid enough to sign up for that bullshit banker/military industrial complex/elite bullshit war or wars. We don't fight battles unless they are truly "defending freedom". Anyone who signs up for this bullshit at this current time I do not feel sorry for. We civilians are paying the price now,and it will get worse. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1272056 United States 04/02/2013 06:16 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | complete bullshit ^^^ Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1272056 i have known a lot of marines from this marine base and friends of the marines i knew. they were almost all very respectful and nice dudes. marines do not act his way on average. What lol? I was in the Navy for 8 years pal. I worked with first MEF in Kuwait doing operations for the P-3s that were doing aerial recon for them. Given all the bases I was at or on over the years I was exposed to countless Marines. Marines are mostly barbarians, but they are trained to do that lol. It's literally their job to be first in combat effective killers. I don't see what you are even arguing here. The video posted is honestly a pretty typical Marine. Didn't you see how the other guys around him weren't acting like it was that uncommon or a big deal lol? They just didn't want him to get in trouble most likely, and that's probably it. Marines also live their life by rules and regulations, so getting caught was no doubt on his (their) mind. Weeeeeeeeee, you were in the navy, pal. weeeeeeeee. you're an idiot. marines are patriots. marines are good people in general. |
