Protestants argue with each other, try to brainstorm, they can't know or agree on...
the meaning of God's revelation especially their chosen one and only written Word of God because they profess the heresy of private interpretation of Scripture (private judgment).

God did not give everyone reading the Bible the authority
to interpret Scripture.

God gave this authority to the Church, Roman Catholicism...who compiled the Bible. Figure it out, many
a Protestant pastor has and converted even though he is faced with no means to support himself for a time. Ah, true love of God. hf

Re: Protestants argue with each other, try to brainstorm, they can't know or agree on...
Sharing some quotes and Q & A about the errors of "private
judgment."

Henry Graham is a convert to the faith, from his book~ What
Faith Really Means?

"When we speak of private judgment, then, let us be quite clear as to what we mean; it has its uses and it has its abuses. Private judgment, in the sense of compiling a creed for yourself out of the Bible, of accepting this doctrine and rejecting that, of judging what should be and what should not be an integral part of the truth revealed by God -- this, of course, is entirely forbidden, for it is directly contrary to the method of arriving at the truth instituted by Our Lord Jesus Christ. Do people imagine that the Son of God, having revealed a body of truth definite and explicit, eternal and unchangeable, left it to us to cut and carve, and to pick and choose here and there such bits of it as suited our taste? What the better should we be today, what advantage would the Incarnation have brought to us, if, after all, we were still floundering about in doubt and uncertainty?

Proof of their not knowing, non-Catholic Christians have a different meaning for almost every verse in Scripture. No authority!!

Someone put up a thread about starting a prophecy website
and asked for advise.

i started one a few years ago although i haven't been able to update it as much as i would like.

mine mainly deals with 3 endtime conflicts involving israel...psalm 83, isaiah 17, and ezekiel 38.

my only advice would be to use your site a a tool to minister..not only to inform. maybe have a section/page dedicated to getting saved ect..

enjoy it.

Don't you think it immature, kinda blind to profess the Bible interprets itself? How is that possible and what of the constant arguments among Protestants?

A Protestant objection in-red and a Catholic reply ~

An infallible interpreter requires another infallible interpreter to interpret the infallible interpreter, ad infinitum.

The Catholic Church is not limited to texts (which is an assumption of the objection), the texts are interpreted by a living authority who continues to interpret and clarify. There isn't another infallible interpreter but one: the visible Church who "interprets herself." (The Protestant evangelical claims the same for the Bible, that it is "self-interpreting")

Re: Protestants argue with each other, try to brainstorm, they can't know or agree on...
How can you ignore the fruits of "private interpretation of Scripture (private judgment)? In the last post, page one of Protestants trying to figure the meaning Daniel's prophecy about the "abomination of desolation.

Consider:

* How can it be true that the Bible is subject to one's personal interpretation since Scripture shows that an instructor is necessary to properly understand the Bible (see Acts 8:30-31, Neh. 8:8)?

* How can it be true that the Bible is subject to one's personal interpretation since Scripture says that prophecy of Scripture is not a matter of personal interpretation (see 2 Pt. 1:20)?

* How can it be true that the Bible is subject to one's personal interpretation since Scripture itself says that Scripture can be difficult to understand and can be distorted to one's destruction (see 2 Pt. 3:15-16)? How is it that Scripture can be said to be difficult to understand if the Holy Spirit guided persons to a proper interpretation?

* How can it be true that believers are guided to a perfect understanding of Scripture by the Holy Spirit considering that St. Paul indicated that the Corinthians had only come to understand him "partially" (see 2 Cor. 1:13-14)?

* How can it be true that believers are guided to a perfect understanding of Scripture by the Holy Spirit considering that St. Paul tells his readers that they needed to have someone teach them again (see Heb. 5:12)?

* Where exactly does Scripture guarantee that you - personally - will be given an accurate understanding of the Bible?

* How can it be true that the Holy Spirit guides each person in the proper understanding of Scripture, since it is clear that those who believe in personal interpretation of the Bible so often disagree on the meaning of Scripture? Are we to believe that the Holy Spirit - the Spirit of truth and the remover of errors - guides people in a contradictory fashion? If persons were truly guided by the Holy Spirit, surely they would all interpret the same way!

Lovely reply, thank you. hf The "blessings" would be God's grace but our brothers and sisters have to cooperate with God's grace.

Except a few of our brothers and sisters who accept God's grace, actually study the faith and the early Church Fathers, the rest of the Protestants are saying NO to the teachings of the faith and are choosing to follow their heresies!

We gotta point them in the right direction, keep sharing with them why the heresies are not from God.

Will it be really late, when they figure out the "abomination
of desolation?" I blame the heresy of private judgment and
their denial of Jesus' presence in the Holy Eucharist.

What happened that day?

On that day, almost everyone who was born would one day die and find themselves in Hell.

How do I know? The Bible tells me so.

Actually, the bible says that Jesus came to save the world

NOT condemn it! hf
 Quoting: Once4All

The Bible also instructs that most of humanity will be going to Hell

From my own study of the Scriptures, I would certainly have to doubt the salvation of 99% of the population.

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Matthew 7:13,14

Matthew 7:13-14 is one of the saddest Scripture passages in the Bible. We hear so much rhetoric nowadays from the sinful world about everyone being a child of God. In sharp contrast, the Word of God plainly states that so FEW people are going to Heaven. I sincerely doubt if even one-percent of the people in this world are truly born-again believers.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28251674

I've been studying the Word of God myself for 33 years!

There is a difference between those who are on the road to Eternal Life now and those [through the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ] who will actually make it.

Thread: Are Any Christians Beginning To Understand How JESUS CHRIST Could Save Billions of People ???
 Quoting: Once4All

It doesn't help you Once for All to study Scripture if you
privately judge the meaning of Scripture. Private judgment
is heresy. God gave the authority to interpret Scripture
to His Church, the RCC. The same Church who gave you your
Bible.

Reject this Protestant heresy Once for All, not the Church.

goodnews At least you say here, OSAS and the "imputation" heresies are false. Yes, people must persevere to the end

Re: Protestants argue with each other, try to brainstorm, they can't know or agree on...
You would think that the Pope, supposedly being the head of the Church and therefore the closest to God, would be able to perform miracles like Jesus, especially considering Jesus' own words.

John 14:12

"Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father."

So how come we never see the Popes doing miracles? Even Peter, supposedly the first Pope, managed this much.

Acts 3:7 says that Peter cured a lame beggar at the beginning of his missionary career. This led to many converting to Christianity. People were even cured when Peter's shadow happened to pass over them (Acts 5:15-16).

According to Acts 9:36, Peter resurrected Tabitha, a good woman and a disciple, who was certainly dead and her body had already been washed. This miracle became known throughout Joppa and, as a result, many were converted.

A double miracle was the killing of Ananias and his wife (Acts 5:1ff). Ananias had sold all his property, but lied about giving all the proceeds to Peter. He fell dead when Peter confronted him with the deceit. Later, just by telling the wife she would die, Sapphira fell dead as well.

Have any of the recent Popes ever performed any such miracles? Why not?

According to Acts 9:36, Peter resurrected Tabitha, a good woman and a disciple, who was certainly dead and her body had already been washed. This miracle became known throughout Joppa and, as a result, many were converted.

A double miracle was the killing of Ananias and his wife (Acts 5:1ff). Ananias had sold all his property, but lied about giving all the proceeds to Peter. He fell dead when Peter confronted him with the deceit. Later, just by telling the wife she would die, Sapphira fell dead as well.

Have any of the recent Popes ever performed any such miracles?
Why not?

Some Protestants as some Catholics are given the gift of healing, there is one Protestant in particular I am trying to think of... I know, have you heard of Timothy Snodgrass?
He has such faith!

I don't know of a Pope who healed someone immediately during
his life time but I am sure there are, the testimonies after
a Pope has died is part the process of canonization.

You speak of Peter because of Bible Alone, your only authority. Peter's healings helped build the faith at the
the start, the beginning of Christianity.

Here is a witness to a miraculous healing, prayers offered to Pope John Paul II after his death. To me, it is a greater sign. Miraculous healing because of a prayer request to a saint in Heaven...prayed silently in one's head sometimes! Proof of the intercession of the saints, we are all one big family. hf

Bogotá, Colombia, Jul 17, 2012 / 10:30 am (CNA/EWTN News).- The testimony of a Colombian man who says he was “miraculously cured” of Parkinson's Disease through the intercession of Blessed John Paul II could allow for the canonization of the Polish pope.

According to the newspaper El Tiempo, the case involves Marco Fidel Rojas, the former mayor of the town of Huila, whose testimony has now been sent to the Vatican office heading the sainthood cause for the late pontiff.

Recounting his story to the Colombian paper, Fidel remembers experiencing the first symptoms of the disease in December of 2005. After a series of examinations, doctors determined he had suffered a stroke, which led to the development of Parkinson's.

Little by little the disease began to get worse. “I felt like I could collapse at any moment. Various times I fell down outside on the street,” he recalled, adding that once he was almost run over by a taxi.

As the years went by and his health continued to deteriorate, Fidel suddenly remembered on the evening of Dec. 27, 2010, that during a trip to Rome he had met Pope John Paul II after Mass and spoke with him for a few moments.

I have a friend up there,” Fidel thought that night, amid his pain. “And he had Parkinson's. Why didn’t I pray to him before? Venerable Father John Paul II: come and heal me, put your hands on my head.”

After praying, Fidel said he slept perfectly that night, and that the next morning he woke up with no symptoms of the illness.

“Yes, John Paul II gave me the miracle of curing me,” he said. “My great promise to my healer is to spread devotion to him wherever I can.”

El Tiempo reported that Dr. Antonio Schlesinger Piedrahita, a renowned neurologist in Colombia, has certified Fidel’s healing and says he is in good health.

The miraculous healing of a French nun, Sister Marie Simon-Pierre – who also suffered from Parkinson's Disease – paved the way for the beatification of Pope John Paul II, which took place in Rome in May 2011.

You are pretending that all Roman Catholics agree. Like when the Vatican changed the Latin Mass, many Catholics didn't like that. One day they were happy with the Latin Mass. Then the next day, the Vatican changed it, and they weren't happy any more. Did those people go from being right to being wrong overnight because the Vatican changed things?

Why did it take the apostles so long to recognize him after the Resurrection, was it just the fact that he looked like a completely different person?

In the first century "Breaking Bread" was a term for the most holy Eucharist. Acts is about the
early Church.

Believe rose in the Real Presence, Our Lord wants you to...

Acts Of Apostles 2:46
And continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they took their meat with gladness and simplicity of heart;

Acts Of Apostles 20:11
Then going up, and breaking bread and tasting, and having talked a long time to them, until daylight, so he departed.

Acts Of Apostles 2:42
And they were persevering in the doctrine of the apostles, and in the communication of the breaking of bread, and in prayers.

Luke 24:35
And they told what things were done in the way; and how they knew him in the breaking of the bread.

God did not give everyone reading the Bible the authority

God gave this authority to the Church, Roman Catholicism...who compiled the Bible. Figure it out, many

First, I find it ironic that you suggest the RCC is such a great teacher when they often taught in Latin…even though most of their followers didn’t read, write or comprehend the Latin, so what great teachings were they to gather and learn from the RCC?

As for your suggestion that we’re not to read the Bible and try to comprehend it, that’s a baseless suggestion when taken on the light of the Bible. The Bible is not difficult to understand if you are a Christian, since you are led by the Holy Spirit. Of course, we can learn from hearing from elders, pastors, etc, but it’s simply non-biblical to suggest we aren’t to try and grasp the Bible on our own. I’d suggest you spend a little while reviewing a few of the following verses that show the complete opposite of what you have put forward – especially when it’s Jesus pointing out their lack of understanding of the Bible.

2 Timothy 3:16 - All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,

Matthew 21:42 - Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures: “‘The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; this was the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?

Matthew 22:29 - But Jesus answered them, “You are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God.

Mark 12:24 - Jesus said to them, “Is this not the reason you are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God?

John 2:22 - When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they
believed the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.

John 5:39 - You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me,

Perfect example, "private judgment" does not work. Our brothers and sisters in Christ do no have a clue why the disciples recognized Jesus in the "breaking of the bread."

I wonder, wonder, wonder, who wrote the book of Love
?

God did, with man's cooperation, He inspired Pope Damasus in 382 A.D. to decide the Canon and St. Jerome directed by God translated the original writings into one book, the Latin Vulgate, the first Bible.

Hi Ac 37396..,

Jesus speaks of the above Scriptures today in a message given Father Melvin.

April 7, 2013

[link to ourladyofpei.com]

"Believe that I have all power My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters as you rejoice during this Easter Season. Saint Peter and the other Apostles received a great gift from Me to heal the sick people and those possessed by evil spirits. However, the chief priest and the Sadducees were not happy about this at all. They had Peter and the others arrested and placed in jail. I sent the angel to open the door and to let them out and to return to the temple to do their work. They worked very well and attracted many people who came to listen to them and to believe in Me.
This great work of mine continues today in many parts of the world. I have chosen a good number of people to do just like Saint Peter and the other Apostles and there are many who marveled at these great healings and come to believe and follow Me. Only One with divine power can bring about these great miracles. See that I am working miracles in My Church for I want you to be part of this great Community founded by Me. It is the Catholic Church. I bless you all."

The above, no offense, Baby Christians. What I can say to show you the Truth. I'll try...though it's been shared a hundred times at GLP.

Jesus stated He wasn't ready but at His mother's request
did as she asked at the Wedding of Cana. There's your proof
Mary is a powerful intercessor.

You ask loved ones to pray for you so you accept they are
intercessors to God for you. The same for your prayers.

The Blessed Trinity has revealed Mary and the saints are
powerful intercessor. How do miraculous healings happen
when often the prayer request was silent, prayed in the person's head?

Lose the protest about Mary and the objection to praying for
the Saint's help. It's all in God's will.

I think Protestants are partly confsued at the term...praying to.

No Offense, OP, but it's a bit like saying I fucked that whore because Abraham was directed to fuck Sarah.

Praying to Mary, or anyone else, is Idolatry just as extra-marital sex is fornication and adultery.

Jesus gave us the Lord's Prayer and that's all anyone needs. Nobody needs Mary's "help" lest God isn't omnipotent?

Is there something about God you're not telling us? Is God a lesser being? A created Being? An Alien?

What are you trying to say, that Omnipotent God needs Mary to mule information and requests to him?

Japanese comic books make more sense.

OP- "the meaning of God's revelation especially their chosen one and only written Word of God because they profess the heresy of private interpretation of Scripture (private judgment)."

Oh my goodness, not this RCC interpretation again.

19We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. 20Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. 21For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

Op, you deride Christians for having multiple divisions yet they exist divided for the same reason that the Catholic church remains relatively united - because of the doctrines of church based upon men, not God. Its the reason - the teachings and dogmas of men who desire earthly power. These are His adversaries, cutting off Christians from Heaven. This 'private judgement' heresy of the RCC is what you HEAR each and every time that you read Peter's words above, despite it clearly stating that all prophecy came through men, carried along by the Holy Spirit, as God spoke. The RCC words in your minds are satans, no different than the Lord Jesus Christ rebuking Peter (calling him Satan) for having his mind on the things of men instead of the things of God.

Those reams and reams and reams of teachings of men are the very thing that Our Lord found in Judea - false teachings of men which made their converts twice the children of hell - cutting them off from Heaven because they could no longer HEAR or SEE God because their minds were filled with the teachings of men.
