Though the US did shoot down a sat a few years ago, it is not how the US would normally interdict a sat. About 1990 the US abandoned it's sat killing missiles and it was announced that satellites would be interdicted electronically. Since that time there has been no mention of US anti-satellite capability, but it is thought that the US has long had the capability to gain control of enemy sats anytime they want.

We've heard about the Chinese trying to get into our sats. We've heard about all these cyberattacks on our networks. Why do we never hear about US attacks and US snooping? Is it because the US doesn't do it? Or is it because of another reason?
