JUST America, huh? The British, Euros, Saudis, Israelis weren't pleased about the Iraq invasion, if not publicly, but more likely privately? It was to secure the energy resources and oil supplies, especially for western Europe and Japan, not really the U.S.

There's much more to this then meets the eye. The general public isn't being told the whole story. Most likely, IMO, other power are encouraging N. Korea, while they publicly tut-tut.

Dont you at all find it funny how N.Korea is trying to threaten the most technologically powerful military in the world, half a world away? Did you at all in elementary school ever see the loner in the sandbox eating bugs ever try and scream and talk shit to the bully on the other end of the play ground?

It doesnt make sense and where all this intel is originating from is bullshit. I laugh at how people had posted reports on how 'China is apparently giving N.Korea 'the-sterning' about them threatening the USA.

No they didnt go ask your Chinese friends if thats a current issue in China and they will laugh at how twisted american press has it and how much the Chinese really dont give a fart about N.Korea. Why??? Because no one does and thats why this whole thing is happening, cause who is really gonna care if anyone goes to war with the N.Korea??? Nobody.

Can someone please give perspective on the fact that we seem to be on the verge of conflict in NK, meanwhile we are wrapped up in gun control here in the states? I know the president has made statements concerning this nuclear threat, but isn't something out of place here?

The debate seems to rage on here at glp on weather or not this threat from lil Kim is real. Why is gun control even an issue right now? Ok yes the loss of innocent lives here in the United States especially children is horrific. We've seen this played out in the media and pushed by the current administration as propaganda to sway public opinions in order to pass gun control regulations. The sandyhook, aurora, and other mass shootings involving semi autos have more holes than a mini golf course. This is another story entirely. The point is why does this take a front seat when we are being threatened by a nuclear blast that could cause the destruction of planet earth.

Hmmm let's see. Banning guns in the United States vs mass extinction of planet earth. I'm pretty sure last time I checked, the detonation of a nuclear causes some pretty awful problems.

So I feel as though I've answered my question. The NK situation is a false flag/distraction,but for what?

I guess there is that possibility that NK is just sick of the sanctions and is playing hard ball. I wish they could just figure this out so we can all move on.

While some of Kim's BS may well be posturing and trying to "prove" himself to his father's old hardline generals, etc., I'm also inclined to believe that where there is smoke there is likely to be fire.

With all the incredible resources available to the US Military (black budget stuff, etc.) isn't there something they can do to make it look like lightening struck Kim Jong Un and a few of his top advisors? Or a tornado that just happened to take out most of their military bases? Or an attack from some super-secret military group and have them make it look like some OTHER enemy of NK took the little bastard and his top ten replacements out?

I am afraid that not taking the rantings of this madman seriously may cost the US dearly in the end. I pray that Washington isn't sitting on their asses having decided this probably isn't that serious. ANY THREAT made toward the US Mainland should be considered HYPER-Serious and dealt with accordingly.

In the 1980s the US Army brought them onto the Korean Peninsula, but withdrew them along with all other nuclear weapons at the beginning of the 1990s.

Laser guided munitions don't need GPS either. US oil supplies are the highest in 22 years, and the reliance on oil passing through the strait of hormuz has been ramped back, especially given the iranian oil embargo. There are pipelines around hormuz now.

I think the N korean satellite would first get neutralized by an IR laser as soon as any combat started. Kim might want to keep in mind that space based IR lasers now can literally toast anything or anyone.
