The Case of The Warm Blanket Abductions - or something
So I've got lots and lots of vague memories of nice nurses with nice warm blankets and I never really thought much about it. Sure, I remembered the nurses faces and the blankets, but I couldn't really identify where I was, so I just let it go.

But there were so damn many over the years that I thought it at least deserved a Google search. Turns out warm blankets are a pre/post surgery thing.

Exactly how many surgeries have I had? Because in my medical history it claims only one and I remember those nurses and that building they're not the same ones as in the other memories.

It's pissing me off - and freaking me out a touch. Surgery is not something that should be done without actual necessity or um - actual patient consent.

Guess I'm just wondering if there are any others out there with too many "warm blanket" memories that they've managed to sort out so I can skip that step..it doesn't look like a fun one. Got a fast forward button?

hmm I have a vague memory as a small child of having a coloform handkerchief put over my face while this man took me from my bed......

When I had my children in the hospital, they were covered in heated blankets after they were born. Maybe one of your memories comes from that.

I was speaking to the nurses in English from a hospital bed, so it seems unlikely that I would have been an infant in a bassinet - but good thinking!

Oh, a note on chloroform. My guardian used to get all giddy talking about it. People are fucking disturbed.

Not nurses or warm blankets, but I have awoken with injuries. I still have a scar on my lower right leg were it looks like skin and possibly muscle tissue was removed "overnight". The indentation is still there from when I was about 10 and now I'm 31.
This too shall pass...

If you were a child you could have been too young to get consent for the surgery.

Unfortunately a good chunk of the memories are from adulthood. That and I didn't have any medical conditions requiring surgery as a child.

Such is life among the unethical.
