Jesus Christ is an amazing example for many reasons, be it His humility, His compassion, or His self-sacrifice, but very little is mentioned about His amazing loyalty to His Father. If you take a look at popular culture and our society, you simply do not see that kind of loyalty and love of a son for his father. I believe that this is the case because many children lack the humility to understand that their parents know better than they do, and that they would do well in listening to their wisdom and experience, or else they are destined to make the same mistakes.

Jesus Christ faced enormous adversity and challenges in trying to fulfill His Father's Will, challenges that would have crushed the average person and caused them to lose their way. Jesus stayed true to His Father's path for Him, despite virtually everyone turning on Him and abandoning Him, even His close friend and disciple Peter. Regardless, He carried on, and gave the ultimate and perfect sacrifice for all of us.

For our part, we often have trouble following the guidance and will of our Heavenly Father, even if it does not require much sacrifice of ourselves. This resistance and mistrust is often echoed with our earthly parents, in that we feel the need to test the limits of our human experience, despite being given good advice on how to properly navigate our lives. While no human parent is perfect, God is - and we can trust in His divine plan for all of us, no matter what that may be. It is only when we truly release control of our lives and trust in God that we experience true freedom, and you cannot express love without trust.
