When my son was three, we were flying to Missouri (moving there), and my son was sitting next to me on the plane. We were taxiing to the runway when my son looked at me and said "we're going to crash and burn". No idea what prompted that thought, I don't think he even understood what flying really was. I had a moment of panic, then told myself, nah, he couldn't know that. We did not crash and burn, however to this day (he's 30) he hates to fly.
